Will Carroll: Teixeira to stay a Ranger?
Or that is how it seems now he says in his most recent entry tonight.

This certainly is a huge change from what we were talking about earlier in the day. It will be interesting to see what Evan Grant or TR Sullivan say later tonight.... We shall see.

Its at the bottom
"It's looking more and more like Mark Teixeira is going to stay a Ranger. At least two teams are now out of the running (though this can always change) and the Indians offer ended up getting smaller and smaller, until we ended up with the Lofton deal. The Braves have allegedly made their last best final offer of three prospects for Teixeira, and sources say that the Rangers are held up over either adding one more prospect or upgrading the pitcher."
Not written in stone, but not looking good. I really encourage you to subscribe to baseball prospectus though cause the articles and content is really awesome and only 5 bucks a month.

seems out of sync with literally everyone else
i mean, the indians offer? when on earth have the indians ever been linked to teixeira.
if the braves offer is final, and the rangers dont get a better one, the rangers will probably take it....
and we are all already assuming its most likely down to the dodgers and braves, with the angels on the outside.. so unless the dodgers are one of the two teams (although thats possible with their recent pitching injuries) then i dont see any change.

Indians offer
Probably why we heard the Adam Miller name thrown out there.

The Rangers need to make a trade now
Right now, keeping Tex means we get two picks. I've written in diaries before about how few draft picks actually pan out, and how most top picks never make it to the bigs. There's always a chance that we draft winners, but there's a very good chance that neither pick ever turns into Salty or Elvis.
The Rangers seem stuck on upgrading Harrison, and I agree with most of you that he is overrated, still...I don't know if the difference between Harrison and Reyes is the difference between the package being offered now and what would be offered in the offseason.

wow...
Guys its going to go back and forth like this all the way to the deadline. Its again just a negotiating ploy.
Teams will leak to the media....we are out of the Tex trade....to lower the price.
Texas will leak to the media...we might have to keep him...to up the price.
I fully expect this to last at least until Monday, and maybe even Tuesday morning.
...so for all those out their with the gun in your mouth...relax. Go grab a beer. enjoy your weekend.

If thats the case...
Like I said...they need tex more than we need to trade him.
He is playing the game...to see if our young GM blinks.
