Someone make sense of this

Listening to KNBR out here in CA, and they just announced that the Giants have traded Matt Morris to:

Get this...Pittsburgh.

For Rajai Davis and a PTBNL.

Can someone tell me what Pitt is going to do with Morris?

Great
So they can get the equivalent of Rajai Davis and a PTBNL?

I doubt...
...many people would label Littlefield a baseball genius...

Pitt.
Well, they pay him the $9M next year and hope he turns it around and use him with Snell, Gorzellany, Maholm, etc and try to form a solid rotation.

Dude,
I don't think Pittsburgh even has a GM right now.

Two words
Dave Littlefield.  Making Pirates fans nostalgic for the Cam Bonifay era.

I thought
he already resigned?

wow
Matt Morris has really fallen off. He'll be 33 on Aug. 9 and is sporting a 99 ERA + this year, with a career high WHIP of 1.47 -- more so because he's getting shelled (162 hits in 136.7 IP) than because of the walks (39 BB / 73 K's).

Just 5 years ago he was an all-star, throwing 200 innings a year for STL, and posted an ERA + of 137 (137!!) in 2001, when he placed 3rd in CY Young voting behind Unit and Schilling.

I'm on the Kam Loe Bandwagon, deal with it.
