Indians claim Koronka per Rotoworld
I hate to start a new diary just for this, but I couldn't find a better place for it.
"Indians claimed LHP John Koronka off waivers from the Rangers.
It's surprising the Indians wanted Koronka, but since moving Adam Miller to the pen did take away their rotation depth, another potential stopgap can't hurt. The 27-year-old Koronka has a has a 6.02 ERA in 28 starts and one relief appearance as a major leaguer. He'll likely be assigned to Triple-A Buffalo."
I'm surprised the Indians claimed him. I didn't really think anyone would ( I guess the Rangers didn't either). Although, I don't think it's too bad of a loss.

Question...
If Cleveland can option him to AAA, the why did the Rangers have to put him on waivers, why couldn't we have optioned him to OKC?

but adam broke down why koronka was the choice when it happened, and it makes sense.
he was out of options after this season and he'd likely be dfa'd at that time anyway
