Royal's Bell will retire at season's end

According to Yahoo Sports

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Buddy Bell resigned as the Kansas City Royals' manager, effective at the end of the season.

Bell announced the decision before Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Twins and said he will remain on for the rest of the season. He will join the Royals' front office in 2008 as a senior adviser to general manager Dayton Moore.

"I had to make a choice between managing and my family," Bell said, "and to me that's a no-brainer."

For whatever reason the Rangers haven't played well against the Royals recently.  I don't know if Bell's managing was the reason, but The Royals just seemed to play better against their manager's old team.

I wish him well.
