Tigers DFA Monroe, call up Maybin

interesting... Maybin has only had something like 6 games played in AA ball, now he's making his debut in Yankee stadium tonight. too bad about local boy Monroe. i think he's the type of guy the Rangers might have picked up just for the hell of it a few months ago, but probably no way now. he had a pretty decent year last year but has fizzled this season and is already 30 years old.

Didn't Joe Morgan...
say Monroe was a future All-Star and could do anything he wanted in the game all last post season?

Oh that wacky Joe Morgan

He also said something
that made it sound like he was just a kid, can't remember the specific comment.

Speaking of funny announcer comments...
Did anyone else see the Emmitt Smith comment on which NFL rookie he thought would have the most impact?  He said......Travis Henry.....a 7 year veteran.

Oh that crazy Emmitt.

See, I think
that the problem isn't that Emmitt doesn't know Henry's status. It's that he doesn't know what the word "rookie" means.

I think you are right
I love Emmitt but he isn't very bright.  It will be worth watching the ESPN show now just to hear how he mangles the English language and how stupid his opinions will be.  Like this gem from a few years ago describing the Cowboys:

"We had some diamonds, but there was a lot of... cow poo poo mixed in with the diamonds. And the diamonds was mixed in with the poo poo"

What kind of a douche quotes himself?

and we care
what Joe Morgan thinks because...?
"Jon Daniels is going to end up being the best thing to ever happen to the Texas Rangers." - me, a long time ago...

its fun to make fun of him
I think there might be a website about it

Calling someone a dork
on a baseball message board, on a Friday evening.

Very dangerous territory, my friend:)

I am impressed that
a) someone on this board is old enough to remember Too Close for Comfort;

b) someone on this board is actually willing to admit in public that they watched the show; and

c) that a male was able to drag his attention away from the blonde sister long enough to remember Monroe! :-) LOL

My big brother
got the Alf DVD for his seven year old because he thought he'd like it. And he loves it, quotes scenes all the time to me, pretty funny.

you know
I was trying to remember JM J. Bullock's name for the longest time but I could only remember that he guest starred on ALF and thought he might have done a talk show with Tammy Fay Baker.  that guy is way weird

Jim Bullock
When ever I think of him (which is often), I can't help but think of this guy:

Has anyone ever seen them both in the same place??

I will not get my comeuppance!
