Teixeira burning more bridges

I found this on the DMN site..

http://rangers.beloblog.com/archives/2007/08/tex_enjoying_rebirth_in_atl.html

Highlights:

All Tex focused on while he was a Ranger was winning every game. Or so he said while he was here.

"I'm not thinking past '07. Honestly. I am completely honest," he says now. "When you're on a losing team, you can think about the future. You can think about, 'Where am I going to play?' and 'When I'm a free agent, where am I going to live?'

.

hmmm....
...I'm actually rooting for the Braves now.  Along with the Cubs & Indians.  Not sure why.  Lesser of evils?

yes, he could
but he probably would want to thank him instead. He loves it here.

Amazing how much folks hate hearing the truth.
Tex is happier playing for a team with a legitimate shot at winning.  What an ass hole.  He probably molests collies too.

by Athos on Aug 19, 2007 4:34 PM CDT   0 recs

nah
not collies... shelties maybe but not collies.

in all fairness, i understand why he prefers being in a playoff race like he is. i'm just sick of hearing about him.

His mentality
about looking to the future...isn't that what losers do?

THE BRAVES...
...will not make the playoffs this year.

i guarantee it.

Neither will the Rangers.
For the 8th year in a row.

Haha
Rangers owned again.

I dont see how saying the truth is burning bridges. Are the Rangers above .500 or below? Well then, they are a losing team.

And they always made it clear they wouldn't resign him.

Like I said before...
Teixeira = Vince Carter.

Losing team
we'll see how much that matters to him when he chooses whether to sign with New York or Baltimore.

Because when he goes to the O's, this giving him a bye because of this lame "losing" argument will come to an end...

Teixeira just didn't like playing in Texas.  I think it had little to do with not winning...

Winning
It had all to do with winning. He liked Young and Hank. I'm sure he liked hitting in our ballpark. I bet you he didn't like the heat, but that is just one thing not involving our record. I bet he didn't like standing on the field for 30 minutes in the first inning watching scrubs from the minors like Rheinecker, Tejeda, Wood get starts. Im sure he liked nobody behind him in the order. I'm sure there's a lot more he didn't like. It had all to do with winning. Everybody has fun when they're winning no matter where you are. Take Florida for example. Their staduim sucks, nobody shows up, no media attention, but if you ask the players on the Marlins teams that won the WS then you're going to hear the best things about the place and how much fun it was. Tex likes to win and nobody blames him. I just don't waqnt to hear anymore of it.

Dumb question
I have occasionally tuned in to Braves games between Ranger commercials (or Joshs' interviews) and it seems Tex is always eating in the dugout. I've never seen a player do that before. Its funny but I've seen him doing it at least 6 times now, from hot dogs to candy bars. Did he do that here to?

by 525DP on Aug 19, 2007 6:36 PM CDT   0 recs

LOL
None of the other Braves eat during a game. Was wondering if anyone had noticed Tex doing it here in Arlington?

by 525DP on Aug 19, 2007 7:18 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

tex
he is a huge douchebag really. just the way he looks, acts, and carries himself. its the same intangiable doucheness that guys like peyton manning, lance berkman, tony stewart and nick swisher have. i never ragged on him when he was a ranger because he was a great player and seemed committed to the team. now that i'm hearing him make comments like these ragging on  the organization it makes me really dislike him.
