Good news for Adam
Eric Byrnes resigns with Arizona
According to the Arizona Republic, Eric Byrnes has agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Diamondbacks.
The deal is said to be worth around $30 million and comes shortly after the two sides reportedly broke off negotiations. The newspaper speculates that with Byrnes signed long term and both Chris Young and Justin Upton not going anywhere, the Diamondbacks may look to part with Carlos Quentin.

writing on the wall
BTW, Hunter is .233 /.291 / .425 / .716 since ASB.
Tom thinks.............
He thinks this will buy him cred with Randy Galloway and Evan Grant, by proving that hes willing to spend $.
IS JD running this team, or Hicks.
I feel like Tom has to make one of these deals every couple of years. Why cant he just let JD make up the team? Or do you think this is something JD would support?

Well
And in that case, I wonder if Teixeira may still be adding value to this org.
Cause the real writing on the wall is Schuerholtz can't keep both.

ha ha
I don't get this at all. They have possibly 2 of the top 4 young CFers in all of baseball, under cheap control for years, and they sign flashinthepan d-lister Byrnes to a 30 million dollar contract?
One downside to this. To contradict my pal RangerMoto, I don't think this is good news for the Rangers. Every other FA centerfielder's price just went up 15%, I'd say.
