8/7 minors
Minors threads get a promotion for a couple of days...
With Frisco and Bakersfield both off and Hurley not pitching, most of the interest lies with the three lower level clubs. Beau Jones, Brigham and maybe Michael Main (if he starts game two of their DH) are featured.
Brigham is already done getting bombed to the tune of ten hits and nine runs (five earned) in 4.2 innings. Jones has a hitless inning in his first start since very early in the year (and only his second overall).

Jones done
2.2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 3 K, 1 HR
He has been a reliever all year, so he probably won't be going deep into games even as a starter.

Injuries
From MILB.com
The Class A Advanced Oaks are the Diamondbacks' affiliate in the California League.
Brett Anderson, a 19-year-old left-hander, suffered a mild concussion and Cody Evans, a 23-year-old right-hander, was examined for a back injury, although neither player was hospitalized, according to the newspaper.
The other players involved in the crash were right-handers Hector Ambriz, catcher John Hester and outfielders Cyle Hankerd and Greg Thomson.
There's a joke in there waiting to happen.

OT: Melky

Since the ASB, he is .357/.398/.571/.969, and for the season he is in the top 6 in ZR and RF. A real spare.

Melky's minor league numbers
took me a minute...
What was your take on Melky when he was being discussed as part of the return in a potential Teix to the Yanks deal?
solid, probably,
Yeah
But my point is that several have labeled him as a spare, a 4th outfielder, a product of Yankee hype, or a Marlon Byrd wannabe. Considering what Melky has already done, I don't understand those characterizations.
Not really

My opinion hasn't changed
While its possible he may turn into such a special player that I'd regret it, and certainly being a league average MLB hitter at 21 and then showing progression are great indicators.
However, anyone who can call a 21-22 year old league average a "spare" isn't paying attention.
