Barry Zito?
Zito's numbers: 8-10, 5.08, 86 K's, 60 BB's, 1.47 (WHIP)
This has been discussed some, but while watching Bonds tonight I couldn't help but consider how lucky the Rangers were! It's like the reverse Curse of Chan Ho Park. The best NON-signing we ever did. Thank you Scott Boras! You greedy saint of a man! We offered a measly $100 million, shame on us.
Anyone else feel this way? Are there stats I'm not seeing? Will he bounce back to a solid #1?
Personally, I don't think so.

if we're
They have around the same ERA, and their BB/K %'s are pretty similar.
Zito
If A-Rod opts out (or not) we are sitting pretty on salaries. I'm not saying Zito isn't better than Gabbard and the like, but for the cash outlay? Wow. And it's all about the Benjamins.
he pitches
he pitches in the NL (al has the DH)
Pretty sure AJM wanted Zito big time
Pretty sure all LSB did, since he sucked.
Zito
I was glad we passed then, and I'm even more happy about that decision now.
Agreed....
Schmidt, it turns out was damaged goods.
Pettitte is still looking ok....

You do realize...
I just dont like bad contracts...
I think most LSBers like to overspend for free agents, so I think ya'll probably wanted him. I dont remember specifically though..
Really we should put Benoit in the rotation, he'd be Johann Santana but for 30 million less.
didn't you want us to give Tex 200 mil or so?

8/140
I dunno, the Rangers did something to tick Tex off though. Probably just their general lack of making amy effort to sign their own guys year after year (except Young).
they signed Blalock long-term too

I wouldn't have signed him for those dollars.

mistakes happen
and I've been proven wrong. I honestly think we need fireballers in here, guys that can bring the heat and mix in a knee-buckling curve or a stout changeup - and I would prefer lefties in our rotation (Zito being a lefty with a great curve being two reasons I wanted him here so bad)
