Is Steroids in Baseball Over-hyped?
I can be wrong but my perception is that all this roids crap thing is over-hyped is baseball from a talent and production point of view. Read, not from a health point.
People want to play moral here I think..
My arguments:
1)
All these guys involved or presumly involved had the talent.
2)
Look at Jason Giambi, the guy admitted and before and after the juice, he is a rock when healthy..
3)
Look at Gary Sheffield, he presumly admitted to used some juice to a judge...who can deny this guy is a pitcher killer.
4)
Look at the Canseco's Brothers... TWINS... the next exact thing as CLONE.. Both baseball players... both reached MLB, but only one had real talent. If Jose Canseco was the main juicer you can bet his brother was second. But no matter how much juice you got if you dont have the talent.
5)
Look at Bonds... The guy hardly can walk in a game. Have play all his career in NL (not DH here), and when playing at his age it is a guy pitchers less want to see. The guy had the talent.
I personally know Ñao Doñe, perhaps you have heard about him. He was Juan Gonzalez personal phisical trainer and massager. He also did and does the same to many latin baseball players (Pedro Martinez has being all this year with him). Doñe was accused of doing roids to Juan Gonzalez. Well to going to the point he was talking the other day over here what he think about this... and he said that the juice does not make a player better from a production point of view. The juice just aliaviate the pain during a large season, but if you dont know how to hit a ball, you will never hit it. If you dont have control several pitchs to pitch well and with control you wont be a good pitcher, you can be a 100 mph pitcher without talent.
Baseball is different than others sports. Example a 100m runner in the olimpics or a swimmer. To win you need to be resistant during a period of time, not in baseball.
In baseball you have to hit a 90 mph fast ball, that cannot be cheated unless you go to bat with a table.
You can say that player juiced... but his numbers are fruits of talents, not juice.. and at the end the juice is just bad for their healh (Caminiti, etc, etc.)

i can understand the people that say that everybody is doing it, but you're saying it doesn't even matter. well then, why even do it? going through the rigors of a 162 game season are part of baseball. ask rusty greer. ask juan gonzalez. longevity is one of the easiest ways to get into the HOF and if Sosa got there with the aid of steroids, than that should be taken into account.
wait
Look that at the end I said that it is bad for their health.
What I nean is that people want to say that the PRODUCTION of baseball players it is only because of this...that is why I said from a production point of view..
To juice is bad.. it is to break the rules now (there wasnt rules then)... But this player did this only because of that. It is not that simple.
Ugh
And one more time, steroids have always been against the rules. They're ILLEGAL, which inherintly makes them against baseball rules. There aren't rules in baseball against the hitter pulling out a gun and shooting the pitcher, but it is illegal so you aren't supposed to do it.

No one will argue that hitting a baseball
look at what happened to Sosa in Baltimore, same thing happened to Giambi, and of course Bonds and how his #'s just went through the roof. No one is saying they don't have talent but I don't feel that HGH or any other steroid is "over-hyped" it is a serious problem that needs to be stopped.
But tell me
When he was side by side with Mr. Roids.
Because he never had the talent Jose had
Enhance what?
(perhaps was double dosing)
In what aspect the roids enhance the game?
Best ball view? NOT
More power? YES, but then here Ozzie was strong than Jose, like Caminiti was stronger than Most and hit only 40 a season and 239 in his career.
For a baseball player steroids are a pain aliviator during the season and a power getter. What I dont understand is why many recognized juicers dont hit more homers.
because steroids can't make you
Many recognized juicers did hit more HR. Have you noticed how the HR totals are down. No one will hit 60 again this year.
Best Ball view? I don't know what else you were trying to say there.

To Answer Your Question
that is
You have to bat a fast ball, it if not so phisical.
So the benefits of juice is not the same for a runner or swimmer or even a NFL player than in baseball...
Except
A suggestion
Go read the part where Zumsteg looks at Barry Bonds' comments that he felt weaker during the 1 week "off" cycle when he was juicing, and then is able to identify a pattern throughout several seasons where Bonds hits great for 3 weeks, not so great for a week.
Then tell me what you think.

Go read the part where some writer looks at Safety/QB/LB/OL comments that he felt weaker during the 1 week "off" cycle when he was juicing, and then is able to identify a pattern throughout several seasons where he plays great for 3 weeks, not so great for a week.
Then tell me what you think. Also, please add a comment about 350-400 pound human beings, who can run faster than the average 18 year old HS player.

To answer your original question.....
Anyone who doesn't think steroids are bigger in the NFL than Major League Baseball has been smoking something.
