Rocket getting an MRI on his elbow

Roger Clemens is getting an MRI for a "tight" elbow.

Obviously not a good sign for him, or the Yanks...ligament damage would mean that he's done for the season.  Although the silver lining would be that we'd be spared another offseason of "what will Roger Clemens do?" drama.

The Yanks have gotten a 4.45 ERA in 17 games for their roughly $20 million investment in Clemens this year.

Why on earth would that be relevant?
Just out of curiosity, of course.

Clemens
As many veterans (particularly ones who have been on a World Series winner) as that team has, is Clemens' clubhouse leadership really going to make that much of a difference?

Isn't that a pitching coaches' job
being really talented is what helps those players.

well
he came in and gave his little rah rah speech to the team. it shouldn't, but the yanks are filled with mental midgets, so they probably needed that...

The Yankees
they lead the all of major league baseball in batting average, runs scored, on base percentage, slugging percentage, are second in hits, fifth in home runs and are even seventh in stolen bases.

So yeah...I don't think the Clemens contract has anything to do with their resurgence...especially since they are in the bottom half of the league in terms of ERA and WHIP.

I love it when the Yanks get shafted
Way to spend that $20M only thing better is the Yanks not making the playoffs.

Yawn...
TJ surgery.

Massive staff infection..

6 different teams wearing black armbands...

That's my dream.

Sheesh, at least "The Texan" never juiced, so's he can be elected to the HOF. Right, AJM?

You're hijacking the thread and being repetitive. Move forward.
