It looks like Daniels made a good move not to offer him arbitration.

Have to think...
that JD knew this was coming. Good move not to offer him arbitration and just throw that $ away.

Yep

of course...
99% of those people, me included, referenced the team knowing more about his health then they had let on publicly.

which just turned out to be true.

So Much for what we got for Chris Young
How can this be viewed as a good move from Jr?

Seems like it was pretty common knowledge.

Now, if Aki would have just had surgery and not played yet, Junior would probably be offering him a big contract.   LOL

Ya
General managers should be soothseeing Miss Cleos that predict injuries years before they occur.

Stupid little boy Daniels.

No, but...
GM's could refrain from trading away two All Stars for crap.

No
Him being the GM means it was his responsibility.  It's an easy cop out to say it was all Buck's fault.
Oh Man!!!!

He was a rookie...
on the job with a experienced manager. I think it is fair to say they both had a good amount of say in that deal.

Buck...
...didn't like the fact that Soriano didn't hustle all the time.  He didn't think Chris Young would be a durable pitcher in the Texas heat.

Since Daniels has been allowed to make his own trades, that haven't been that bad.  That is enough data to convince me that Buck's fingerprints were all over those moves.

Since Showalter?
Look, I love me some JD.

But come on.

JD trades for the future. You may see an episode of Star Trek with a Ranger Prospect.

THAT certainly improves one's ability to make a good trade.

Buck
Maybe if he had lost that stupid slicker he would have stopped having heat strokes and over estimating the Texas Heat pertaining to Chris Young

My wife goes to the dawgsports
blog all the time. She likes that Kyle guy.

I've been there several times when she's said check this out, etc. But, I'm not a Georgia Bulldogs fan. I'm just married to one.

Move on
Hart traded Pronk but it seems we have moved on. Bad trades are made along with good ones you just have roll with it.

I feel alot better now
from a fans viewpoint.

I never said much about it, but I hoped that surely they knew more than we did about his health.

by Nichols22 on Jan 10, 2008 3:03 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

question:
is there a GM in the game who has never made a trade that a fan regretted?

by knockoutking24 on Jan 11, 2008 12:23 AM CST reply actions   0 recs

That would require some...
serious time and research...but I would be surprised if any GM had not made at least 1 or 2 bad deals.
