Rangers raise ticket prices
This kind of bothers me.
Considering how much money they have freed up and not used in the last two years, considering they have signed no one of any prominence in the off season, considering the mediocrity (to put it lightly), this was not necessary and is a slap to the fans.
It especially kills me that they have premium ticket pricing when the Rangers play high drawing teams like the Yanks, BoSox, etc. As such, we should get reduced ticket prices when Padilla starts. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/stories/011108dnsporanglede.2a8bb67.html

What will be funny
I like what BaD radio said about premium pricing
Anyone who says Hicks doesn't care just about making money just lost a bit more ammo today. What a joke.....the bigger joke is that we still care.
I agree
They're no longer the D-Rays
PSA
And they've got the best young talent
In a three game set you might see Kazmir-Shields-Garza, which is a pretty darn ridiculous young core of pitching.
Plus you get to watch Carl Crawford and BJ Upton, two of the most exciting players in the league, imo.
I'd choose to watch the Rays over quite a few teams, actually.

I believe he was...
Yah
Except it's not.
Pro sports of all types have been steadily raising prices for a long time now. There was zero reason to think the Rangers weren't going to raise prices again.
That's just the way pro sports are, fellas.
I am not surprised
I understand the two are unrelated, but coming off consistent losing seasons with the likely prospect of another season looming, it is tough to stomach a Rangers ticket price increase.
Instead, as Rangers fans, we get to pay more to the likes of Jamey Wright.
Who cares
And I believe the premium pricing has been going on for a couple years now but I could be wrong. I thought I had heard that before.

Big Daddy is laughing...
all the way to the bank. How about putting a decent team on the field first before screwing the fans (again).

Tom Hicks a genius ?
A genius would of put a winner on the field after all these years and would be drawing 3 million instead of 2.3 million. There's a big differance between a genius and a greedy guy. He's certainly a genius at making money for himself although unfortunately Ranger fans always wind up with the shit end of the stick.

ticket prices
yeah
Gee ..
I wonder why? Could it be that they're one of the worst teams in baseball? Big Daddy can only "push the envelope" so far.

Ticket buyers
Ticket price increases (or decreases) have had no impact on attendance. Therefore, Hicks and his marketing team are making a prudent business decision. If you don't like it, then speak with your actions and don't go.
