OT : The Monte Carlo in Vegas is engulfed in flames..

The hotel Monte Carlo is engulfed in flames starting at the uppermost floors. It's not looking good at the moment. Given that the bldg is 34 stories I hope id doesn't come tumbling down like one of the twin towers. So far no word if anyone has been hurt yet. I'm going to Vegas on Tuesday I hope the bldg is still standing then.

Yikes...

they just showed some people in a window waving for help. It kinda reminds me of the world trade.
Want to see Miles do a really great Hannibal Lechter impersonation? Tell him how wonderful you think Eli Manning is.

tons of fun. I'm flying in Tuesday just for the day to have dinner at Mario Batali's new restaurant "Carnevino" which just opened in January at the Palazzo Resort. I can't wait it's supposed to be amazing. I'm gonna have me some of that Fe lay me nun.  :)

Monte Carlo
stayed there a few months ago (I think in the wing that I saw burning on TV).  One of the better value places on the strip.  Very nice hotel - not nearly as swanky as Bellagio or Venetian, but enough so as to feel like you are living above your means for a few days.

Won a good deal of money there too... hope the place isn't too badly damaged.
