Hamels
Starts off 3 up 3 down….nice.
he’s still hitting better than Saltalasuckia—while playing vastly superior defense...Athos

OT: Kent Mercker
Quote from the Cincinatti Enquirer:
He’s going to retire. Said his new job will be “turning Vodka into urine.”
Kind of sad.

Predictions on the DS?
I’m thinking:
ALDS
Tampa vs. Chicago: Tampa in 3
Boston vs. LAA: Boston in 5
NLDS
Milwaukee vs. Philadelphia: Milwaukee in 5
Los Angeles vs. Chicago: Los Angeles in 5
I hate to choose against the Cubs, but they sort of just limped into the end of the season and they have been so entitled this year I’m not sure they are going to be awake in the NLDS. The Cubs, if they play like they are built to play, can destroy the Dodgers and win in 3. But, my pick is my pick. Deal with it.

5th inning is not a good time to see the Brewers bullpen

damn. 5 pitch inning
Shall we start a thread about how badly the Rangers need Hamels?

Anyone think the CG goes to Hamels on this one?

I really, really thought Lidge was gonna melt down right there
I don’t think I could ever trust him in a tight playoff game.

Sigh
Watched the first game, don’t think I can stomach the next two. I can’t stand any of the teams playing this year. Unless its Rays vs Brewers I’m going to be disappointed. Unless of course either wins it all.

this is not looking so good for the cubbies
They kinda look like crap tonight.
I’m ambivalent about the next game. On the one hand, it’s the Hated Halos. On the other hand, it’s Red Sox Nation.

I told my friend...
I don’t care who wins, because my preference is that they both get smothered.

OT, sort of
My husband got me one of those teeny tiny (7 inch screen) Asus Eee PCs for my birthday. It’s pretty cool, but of all the sites I’ve been to so far, this is the only one that renders weirdly :(

This game is frustrating me
and I’m not sure why, since I hate both teams. Maybe it’s the Angels fans getting on my nerves.

I appreciate a good Paint job
But what are those on their backs? Wings? My first thought was that they look like cornucopiae.

and since nobody seems to be actively commenting,
I’ll just note for posterity that I’m referring to GMJ missing a routine fly ball in the lights, losing it behind him by inches, and Jacoby Ellsbury going to third on the error.
