I should remember this guy...
…2001 wasn’t that long ago. But when I read the article the name didn’t seem familiar at all.
Sad story.

I'm 41, and have
passed the “injury nexus” of my life….but the first 30-some I had almost everything.

At 71
I still have pretty much the same concerns that were there from about 45 on. Live well, and do good, ’cause the “time” comes swiftly for many.

Awful news, way too young.
I have to confess that I don’t remember him with the Rangers.

I didn't remember him either
His last ML appearance was against the hated Yankees. The Rangers hit 5 home runs, and scored in every inning except one.

I remember him...
mostly as a Cub. I had completely forgotten he was a Ranger, however. Mostly because the 2001 season was dreadfully forgettable.
RIP

He only pitched for us in 2001?
For some reason I thought he was around for more than that with the Rangers. Much more than 17.2 innings.

He was the guy that would always flip the ball with his fingers while in the dugout
I was a big Cubs fan when I was 9-13 years old. I remember watching him sit in the dugout and flip the ball repeatedly by snapping his fingers. At the time, I thought that was the coolest thing in the world. It must have stuck with me, because as soon as I saw his name today, I remembered him as the “ball-flip guy.”

Tragic
I’ll admit, I’ve never even heard of him before but it always makes you stop and think a little when ou hear of someone dying like that at just 39.
