Richard Durrett has an update on the coaching staff situation, with Jon Daniels saying that he hopes to have the staff situation finalized by next week, and that "[n]o additional interviews with external candidates are planned at this time," other than the one with Dave Wallace set for Monday.

That would seem to suggest that Perry Hill will be hired, with either Jackie Moore or John McLaren as the bench coach, and either Wallace or Rick Peterson as the pitching coach.

Nolan Ryan was honored in Tyler yesterday, and in fielding questions, had praise for Derek Holland, Neftali Feliz, and Christopher Davis.

And Mike Hindman has started his offseason prospect previews, with the #11-15 starting RHP prospects in the organization going up last night...

Davis broke out in a big way in 2007 with 36 home runs between two minor league levels. In 2008, he took it up a notch, starting at Double-A, toasting Triple-A, hitting .333 in the minors and blasting 39 combined homers between the majors and minors.

I think he’s involved, but how much may be clear by who they hire. It’s just that jd officially hires them. But I’m glad you wrote me, because in my next story, I need to include Washington.
