Nice quick 10 pitch first half the inning

I guess I’ll start things off… Hopefully, I’m not just talking to myself by the end of this one..

I just noticed that Edwin Jackson's not on the Rays postseason roster

I hope that doesn’t come back to bite them in a couple of games. Seems like he could have been used as a long-man at least.

Yeah

I’m kinda neutral towards the Sox and the Ozzie factor was pushing me to root for the Rays in this one. But I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I realized that if they win, it would be Playoff Series wins for the Rays 1 – Rangers 0. Sorry? Sure. But I don’t care.

Fire Todd Dodge. Seriously. 77-20 To RICE? Come on.

Scioscia should be ripped for last night..................

So, K-Rod hadn’t pitched since September 27th. Game 1 was on October 1st. Game 2 is October 3rd. And Game 3 is October 5th.

So, why in the blue hell did K-Rod NOT pitch the 9th inning last night? He actually should have been available to pitch the 8th and the 9th. Angels trailed 2-1, why not insert your best reliever to try to keep the game as close as possible?

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think K-Rod is the be-all, end-all. The media made WAY too much of the 62 saves this season. There are about 10 “closers” that I’d take over Rodriguez (even this year). But, K-Rod is the best reliever the Angels have. It made me laugh when Shields gave up the 2 runs in the 9th to put the game at 4-1 in favor of Papelbon. Good luck with all that! Scioscia deserved to have it shoved up his ass!

Hoping

I’m hoping we will go after CC and money whip him to come here and then make a trade for a Zack Greinke type pitcher.

Rotation
CC
Greinke
Millwood
Padilla
Harrison

Add in Feliz and the other youngsters that are up and coming in the next few years and you are set for a long time. After watching CC in the 2nd half he can carry a team. He’s worth the money.

sabathia

obviously he is going to get a huge contract this offseason but i’m not sure it would be a smart move. what he did as a brewer was amazing and he will get paid largely based off that but he has never been anywhere close to that good during any part of his career. he is an ace quality pitcher but he has put a gazillion miles on that arm over the last couple of years. just what the brewers did to him over the last two months is a big concern to me.

OT: Hamilton's book

I pre-ordered a copy of Josh Hamilton’s book “Beyond Belief” and it arrived in the mail today. I started reading it this afternoon and I guarantee I’ll be done by Saturday. It’s fantastic and very insightful. I’m gaining a new appreciation for Josh, his past, how he got to the Rangers and more. I’m simply floored by his honesty. It’s a must-read.

TJ surgery

When I heard he had a sore forearm, I figured it was just a matter of time until he had to have TJ surgery. It seems that is always the eventual result when they start talking about soreness. Maybe it was just a muscle issue, but my guess is that he is headed for major surgery.

Gratz to the Rays

they now have as many franchise playoff wins as the Rangers.

A good playoff showing and they may make their way out of the worst franchise in baseball, and give the Rangers a better shot at that title.

Actually, if the Rays advance

I believe that makes the Texas Rangers the only franchise in MLB to never win a playoff series. Which will probably make the Rangers the worst active franchise in MLB.
