Interestingly, college once again futzed their playclock rules, and is said to be doing like the NFL (clock stops on out of bounds only in the two minute warning, 40 second play clock) which I hate. But I see really odd effects in the box scores, some games seem to be running lite on plays like NFL games, some seem to be running as much or more than ever (I saw some game where one team had 96 plays!).
I’m not sure whats going on. I’m thinking the clock stops on first downs in college, and that is keeping the play numbers up? Or pehaps different conferences are doing things differently? I dont know.

- OSU vs #1 texas
so i figure with 1 game on ABC and 1 game on ESPN2.
i go to the info for the ESPN 2 game and it says VA tech vs Fla State OR michigan/michigan state
so i think ok, texas is going to be on ABC
and on ABC it ends up va tech, UNRANKED vs florida state (25)
so now i have to watch it on justin TV … fuck abc. you have what, 3 of 4 teams unranked or #1 vs #6 in the COUNTRY and because i live here in dc i get va tech vs florida state?
and the funny thing is that its va state vs florida state going against UGA (9) vs LSU (11) – you kidding me?

I doubt that was his first read, but that play looked busted from the start. I have no idea what they were trying to do, but I can’t imagine a crossing pattern behind the LOS was the plan.

I don't think they even tried to get Bryant involved today
He has some catches, but I thought they would try and get him the ball more often. Obviously the running game was working, but I think they only went deep to Bryant two or three times.

but at some point he has to get credit for making VY from a runner to a complete QB (regardless of if he ever succeeds in the NFL) and taking a 2 or 3 star recruit from a tiny high school and turning him into a complete badass.

It started with Benson, then with Charles. This year he has been great from a play calling standpoint and he obviously can develop QBs.

But there were 2 or 3 blatant holding calls that I saw missed, and those two offsides calls I thought were missed as well. Either way, I think it all evened out in the end.

Are you ready Frog fans? Nov 6th, up on the hill in SLC. Winner goes to a BCS game imo (I think the Frogs will hop Boise St. if they win out). Although Utah is still at New Mexico, which they should win but for some reason has been a tough place for them to play in recent years, and has the Holy War the last game of the year. Should be a fun finish.
