WTF is up with all of the ads on SBNation?

PrintHoly crap! I come to LSB today and there are pop-up ads freaking everywhere. Ads by SBNation that are covering up posts and fanshots and pretty much everything else. They are long or wide...and there is NO way to close them. WTF???

Nope
Spammers have learned about blocks for anything autosent, so have taken to scripting legit signups onto sites, followed by one post teasing. Over the past couple of years, I’ve had to delete maybe 15 like that from NMLR. Posts, not ads.

It’s a low budget PhP forum. There is a signup confirmation link returned by emai. that is required in order for a login to be activated. Roboscripts don’t return the email, so are blocked. However, a person can click on the confirmation link, sign in, and post.
Only the most elegant spam scripts “know” enough to make an email reply, and even then, it takes a person signing in to post.
