Jon Daniels to Speak at UNT Tomorrow
I'm sure this is meant for students, but I figured I would share anyways. Not sure if they will be checking IDs or if this is an open event. All I know is that I will be there.
Jon Daniels - Distinguised Lecture Series
UNT College of Business students have an opportunity meet Jon Daniels, the eighth general manager in Texas Rangers history and the youngest general manager in Major League Baseball history. Daniels is scheduled as a Distinguished Lecture Series speaker on October 10, 2008, from 10:00-11:30am, in the Golden Eagle Suite in the University Union.

Very cool.
Do you know if it’s just for Business students? Cause I sure as hell want to be there as well.
Fire Todd Dodge. Seriously. 42-10 to FIU? Come on.
Not sure.
I’ll contact the department and let you know.
I am the motherfucking shore patrol, motherfucker! I am the motherfucking shore patrol! Give this man a beer.
They say its open to all students
I am the motherfucking shore patrol, motherfucker! I am the motherfucking shore patrol! Give this man a beer.
Probably
I technically talked to a Grad Counselor. I explained I was a Grad student in a different department. She asked where it was, I told her and she said it should be open to all students.
Honestly, I’m guessing if you want to take the time, park and find the location you’re in.
I am the motherfucking shore patrol, motherfucker! I am the motherfucking shore patrol! Give this man a beer.
I might come
Need to go to Denton for bidness anyway.
Where the hell is this Golden Eagle thing? Is that the the new name for the Lyceum or is it at least around there somewhere?

It's
near the Lyceum. It’s on the top floor of the University Union you can’t miss it, it’ll say “Golden Eagle Suite” on top of the door or on the door itself I think.

Okay
I remember where it is. That sure is a stupid name…“Golden Eagle Suite”. If I remember right it’s either like a big conference hall or a lecture room maybe a 1/8 the size of the Lyceum. Golden Eagle Suite, huh?
Anyway, thanks.

Damn
Looks like I have to go South instead of North for business today. If anyone has one of those little digital recorders, record the event and I’ll host it on my website so everyone can hear it.

Haha
No kidding. I mean it’s not a shit hole, but you could do a lot better than UNT.

A lot is field dependant
UNT is top 30 in my field and #2 in the South.
Extremely high in Psych and Music and several other disciplines. Surprisingly ranked over UT and A&M in the state of Texas in several niche disciplines.
I know that UNT offers some degrees that haven’t even filtered into the rest of the Texas collegiate system from the East and West coast. UNT is in a weird position, a large portion of the faculty is from not only out of state, but out of region, and therefore the fields of study don’t sync with the rest of the state
+1 on the Psyc department
I’m a Psyc major and all the professors I’ve had are awesome.
Fire Todd Dodge. Seriously. 42-10 to FIU? Come on.
For some odd reason
I figured you for a Psyc major
RFTV is supposedly pretty high too
as far as psych are you looking into the play therapy section in Psych? UNT is one of the few that offer that specific field. I think the only other one in Texas is A&M.
I need to call my buddy that chose ND over UNT for his PhD, he ended up having to choose on that one….
RTVF
I have a lot of friends that are RTVF majors and they’ve all said it was outstanding. Really, when you are the home of George Dunham how can you not have a good RTVF dept?
On Psyc, I don’t think I’ll be getting into the play therapy area. I’m more interested in the Cognitive aspect of Psychology.

I went to almost as many colleges...
…as Sarah Palin and UNT was actually my favorite. Of course that was back in the 20th century so a lot may have changed since then.

Sarah Palin
I was just on msnbc and read she played basketball
Oh hell
somebody please warn UNT College of Business students not to take up managing baseball after hearing Jon Daniels
Odd
I’m a business student (kind of) at UNT and didn’t hear about this. I saw this post on the site but just glanced and assumed it said UT. I had no class this morning and could have gone…
Awesome.
Just got done with it. Just gonna take a guess here but I’m guessing it was BZA who asked about “coddling” pitchers. First off, no joke, JD looks like he should still be in college. Gotta class at 12:00 but I can do a write up of the things he said later today if y’all want me to.
Fire Todd Dodge. Seriously. 42-10 to FIU? Come on.
I'm going to write up a report Sprite
Wrong on the guess, but I was the guy up front that asked 8 questions or so.
I am the motherfucking shore patrol, motherfucker! I am the motherfucking shore patrol! Give this man a beer.
Very cool.
I was the guy that got the Beavan question in at the end. Sitting right next to Jeff Wilson. Oh Yeah.

Somehow
I was the guy at home. I take 4 different business classes, how didn’t I hear about this?
