It's never one thing
But tonight was simply the Lakers out-everything’ing the Mavs in the 2nd half. All you need to do is look at the MVPs on both sides. Kobe took over when it mattered, Dirk shot air balls and fouled out. I know the start is hardly Dirks’ fault; I think him and Kidd are the only ones who have shown up to play every night.
But that’s their biggest problem: guys taking nights off defensively and not making shots. Tonight was a better effort in the first half, but you don’t get wins for playing a good half.
Sigh; I just realized how depressing this fall has been for Dallas sports. Mavs and Cowboys not hustling/playing to their abilities, Stars playing dumb and becoming arguably the NHL’s biggest disappointment thus far. The Rangers might just be the best story in the next calendar year. :(

Cuban has long term success in mind
don’t worry.
He is doing his best to stay competitive for the next year or two, but not doing anything that will kill us 2010.
2010
They will make a huge run at Lebron James. It won’t be that difficult to get under the cap to get him either.

Kidd will be gone in some form or fashion
Howard and Damp will be gone.
The pick will be gone.
I hadn’t heard this about LeBron, but that’s about the only way I could see them maintaining pace.

Lebron
has said Dallas is one of his “3 favorite cities” — which was his way of saying which teams he’s interested in.
Every NBA player wants to play in Dallas. It’s a big enough sports crazed market that he instantly be the biggest personality in it. Plus, he loves Cuban from what I’ve read.
I really do think it’s a legit option. They’ll get under the cap and be able to offer him as much as anyone other than Cleveland.

I mean, I'll take your word for it
but how does that shake out?
Dirk, LeBron, Gerald Green, Brandon Bass and a bunch of spares?
I think that team could do it. Please make this happen DD. I’m counting on you. Spam message boards — do whatever it takes.

That team
wins the title.
Plus, vets will take less to play with Lebron — it’s happened before. Look at how successful he’s been while having to completely carry the Cavs. Imagine if he had another legit talent like Dirk on the team

Dwayde
just pulled another classic against Portland. The amazing thing, though, is that the refs didn’t buy it.
Yeah, I saw that
when he ran into Pryzbilla and got stuck? LOL
I didn’t see his reaction. But with Bavetta making the call, I wouldn’t exactly complain if I was Dwyade =)
