So my Pokes lost the Border War. Terrible loss for ND (they look like absolute crap). To me, personally, a suprising loss by Texas Tech. Congrats to Boise St. Let's see, what else..... oh yeah, some team from Utah won and is now undefeated despited what ESPN would like you you believe.
Chad Billingsly broke his foot. Salty had 2 HRs and 2 walks today. Not too bad. And now a joke:
So this guy is watching TV, hears a knock on the door. Walks out and nothing's there. This happens a few more times and one time he looks at his doormat and sees this snail on his doorstep. He looks at the snail, picks it up, and throws it clear out into this open field across the street from his house.
Four years later, the same guy is watching TV and hears a knock on the door. He opens the door and doesn't see anyone but eventually looks down at his doormat and sees this snail. And the snail says "what the fuck was that all about?".
Congrats to slc ranger.

lets see....its between OU and Texas right?
1-TEXAS BEAT OU ON A NEUTRAL FIELD
2-OU’s loss was on a neutral field and by 10 points. UT’s loss was on the road by 6 points
3-Texas has beat Oklahoma State, OU, Missouri and OU has beat Tech and….
Texas beat OSU by 4 at home not exactly dominating is it?
OU has beat Tech by 44, Cincy and TCU.
If OU goes to Stillwater next week and puts an ass whippin on them it will be a better win than Texas’ win against OSU at home by 4.
That would have OU beating 4 Top 20 teams.
A bunch of midgets with no arms could pitch better than us. -iorange555
beating OSU by 4 is better than beating a team like cincy
and we had all of our 4 hard games in a row.
and where did OU lose and where did Texas lose?
and if our safety squeezes his hands then we are 11-0

They tried the old Cal lateral play in the last seconds to try to hit 100. That is pretty sorry…..and not very Christian if you ask me.

Man that game was a massive disappointment.
I was scared OU would destroy ‘em, but I thought Tech had a puncher’s chance at the very least.
I’m glad I went out of my to make sure I watched it.
The 40 Trumps All!!!
There are two kinds of men in this world: Men who make jump throws, and men who wish that they were Derek Jeter so that they could make jump throws.
heh from "the worldwide leader"
We’re now one week away from a sticky three-way tie between one-loss teams in that division — Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech. That will incite a royal rhetorical rumble about which one deserves to play for the Big 12 title and, by extension, which one deserves to play in the BCS National Championship Game.
One thing is certain: it’s not the Red Raiders, who collapsed in a way 10-0 teams never do. They picked a lovely time to surrender the most points in school history.
So while Tech is dispatched back to the Poser Dept., the Texas-Oklahoma debate is on. Big time.
lol
Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.
i know
OU has been destroying teams, but you have to look at the results and where they took place. Tech beats UT at home on the last play of the game. OU destroys Tech at home. UT comes from 11 down twice to beat OU on a neutral field. Tech is ruled out because of the blowout and the last second win. that leaves OU and UT. UT beat them on nuetral ground. i cannot see an arguement on OU’s behalf. and i am not a UT ex at all.
they deserve it. plus OU didn’t have Mizzou on schedule like UT did. UT had 4 tough games in a row.
Gimme a break
OU isn’t the same team that played against UT. UT was on the ropes in that game until the captain (Reynolds) got hurt and they struggled to find a replacement. If everybody can look past Florida’s loss to Ole Miss (who wasn’t ranked) and rank them so high, I don’t see why the same can’t be done to OU. They had a tougher non-conference schedule then UT and if they beat OSU deserve to be ahead of UT. If the Mizzou factor is such a big deal to you all you have to do is substitute Mizzou for TCU. They’re both closely ranked teams.
OU was the number one freaking team when they played UT
so, quit that BS right now…
Not the same team. please.
Jindal '12
OU
probably the best team in the land,
and I would prefer a Florida/Oklahoma championship game.

Tech should still be ranked ahead of Texas
Because they beat them. That is the argument right? Such and such team beat such team so they should be ranked higher than them. I will go by what I have seen over the past few weeks. Texas was lucky to beat OSU but beat them none the less and lost to Tech. Texas hasn’t played well at all here lately where as the Sooners have been pounding teams.
Oklahoma might not pass Texas this week but if they put a beat down on OSU up in Stillwater next week the will pass them then for sure. Not to mention Oklahoma will have a better SOS playing TCU and Cincy in non conference.
A bunch of midgets with no arms could pitch better than us. -iorange555
except the win was in the last seconds
in Lubbock. When you are talking about a neutral ground win, it takes that home field advantage out.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.
-The Outlaw
They still beat Texas
The system is screwed up. Texas only beat OSU by 4 at DKR so if the Sooners roll into Stillwater next week and beat them that is a better win than barely beating OSU at home by 4.
Either way some team is going to ge screwed. I would prefer a OU/UT NC.
A bunch of midgets with no arms could pitch better than us. -iorange555
I would love to see that happen
and the way things look this year, those are probably the best 2 teams in the nation.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.
-The Outlaw
Doesn't matter
By that line of thinking Tech should still be ranked ahead of Texas. In a week it won’t matter if OU beats the hell out of OSU in Stillwater. That will be a better win on the road over OSU than Texas’ win at home by 4.
A bunch of midgets with no arms could pitch better than us. -iorange555
Here is my take
I would like to see a OU/UT NC game.

I agree just like every other person in the world
but until OU plays OSU, i think it should be obvious that Texas is ahead of OU but i still think OU is the 2nd best team in the country.
wouldnt it be great if there was a Texas/OU National Championship game?

Fuck yeah. Last night was a little slice of heaven.
My Utes are going to the BCS again. Our defense made the Cougs QB throw five picks…oh wait, I think I just picked off one of his passes just sitting here at my computer, that makes 6! BYU can suck my balls. Their egotistical “Quest for Perfection” shirts that their coach had made and they sold to all their fans before they even played a game this year. That is why everyone hates you BYU. How’s my ass taste. Two undefeated seasons and 2 BCS games in 5 years. I couldn’t happier right now.
As for ESPN. You suck. All you have done this year is talk about Boise because you have a TV deal with the WAC. You thought if you just ignored the MWC and Utah that we would just go away. Well it didn’t happen you assholes.
Now I just have to find out where I will be traveling for New Years. Probably New Orleans or Miami. I want Sugar and Bama. Bring it on. GO UTES.

the AP poll doesn’t count toward the BCS, but the coaches poll does. Things are looking good for OU right now.
I still think my Utes should be above USC and Penn St. though. No Love, but they can’t keep them out of a BCS game which is the important thing.

A bunch of midgets with no arms could pitch better than us. -iorange555
Based on new Harris and USAToday polls
and last week’s computer index:
1. Ala — .973
2. UT — .901
3. Fla. — .882
4. OU — .876
5. USC — .795
It seems that the win over Tech would need to move OU up from .82 in last week’s computer poll to at least .87 with UT dropping from .93 to around .91. And remember that there are no style points in the computer polls, so the large margin of victory makes no difference.

Not an expert
But took a long look at historically how some key wins effected different teams this year, just to see if there was a trend that could be deciphered.
I think it’s going to be difficult for OU to leapfrog UT (assuming they both win this week).
OU is 1, 2, 4, 4, 4 & 5 in the computer polls. The 5 poll doesn’t really matter — even if they move up to four (UT, Ala, Utah & Fla. are ahead of them), one of the fours still gets eliminated. In the three 4 polls, UT and Ala are ahead of them in all three, along with some combination of Utah and Tech. Just from looking at what has made teams move within the computer polls over the last four weeks, loses from within the Top 5 are about the only thing that has created change in the computer polls — with the exception of Tech’s win over Texas, which vaulted Tech from 10th to 1st and OU’s win over Tech, which took OU from 6th to 3rd in the computer index.
Also consider that OU is in a catch-22 with OSU. At No. 11, a loss to OU would probably push them out of the Top 15 in the computer index, which hurts OU’s schedule strength with the computers.
Ironically, an Alabama loss (or in the unlikely event Tech craters against Baylor) could be the worst thing for UT. Ala. is between UT and OU in two computer polls, so an Ala. loss would move OU closer to UT in those two computer rankings, while UT wouldn’t receive any benefit.
FWIW, if the human poll voting was the same next week as this week, OU would have to gain .03 points in the computer index to pass UT. OU gained .08 points and UT gained .03 this week. Most of that was due more to Tech’s loss than OU’s win, although the win did push OU past Fla. and Utah in the computer index as well. But the closer you get the top, the more difficult it is to gain ground and Tech was No. 1 in the computer index last week, while OSU is No. 11.
If the Top 4 teams all win, I don’t think it will be the computers that send OU ahead of UT; I think the voters will have to do it. A 40-50 point win for Texas Thursday would go a long way, regardless of what OU does to OSU. We’ll see next week if my time was well spent or not.

A bunch of midgets with no arms could pitch better than us. -iorange555
i think you're right about bama
but i think a single loss to a mediocre team is more of a fluke game than an idication of how good the team is. But a loss to a good team in a big game is more of a you got beat by a better team loss.
exploding highfive
Keep hating...
on Bama. The work’s not done, but they’re the only team (in a BCS conference… sorry SLC) who has done everything asked of them when the season began. UT, OU, UF, USC, TT all slipped up. Bama has had chances to tumble, and games when they weren’t particularly sharp, but they have not dropped the ball. And if they can do that 3 more times, we’re looking at National Championship number 13!
Say what you will about Florida, and then go look at who they’ve really beaten this year. No one, of consequence, that Bama hasn’t beaten. Sure they trounced LSU, but they had them at home – in the swamp. And LSU doesn’t have near the venomous hatred for UF that they have for Bama and Coach Nick Saban. And Bama didn’t lay an egg against Ole Miss – even though they had the chance. For this week – Beat the Barners. Then we’ll worry about making Herbstreit, Vitale, and others eat their words.
Roll Tide Roll.
