Newberg Report
I have to give the printer a final number this afternoon on quantity for the first print run, so if you plan to order books in time for the holidays, I’d appreciate it if you could do so today.
The 2009 Bound Edition is roughly 300 pages in length, and costs $25. If you buy at least two copies, I’ll throw in a free copy of a previous year’s edition (your choice).
Otherwise, the price breakdown on the older books is as follows:
2009 Bound Edition – $25
2008 Bound Edition – $20
2007 Bound Edition – $15
2006 Bound Edition – $15
2005 Bound Edition – $15
2004 Bound Edition – $15
2003 Bound Edition – $15
2002 Bound Edition – $15
2001 Bound Edition – $15
1999/2000 Bound Edition – $10
A gift set of all 10 Bound Editions is $125 (which is a $35 discount).
You can pay for your order by credit card at www.PayPal.com, sending it to the gjsneaker@sbcglobal.net account. (Shortcut: go here: http://www.newbergreport.com/buythebook.asp and click the “Pay with PayPal” button.)
Or you can send payment by check or money order to:
Jamey Newberg
Vincent & Moyé, P.C.
2001 Bryan Street, Suite 2000
Dallas, TX 75201
Thanks. Let me know if you have questions, and mark you calendars for the Wednesday, Dec. 10 Book Release Party (6pm - 9pm) at Sherlock’s in Arlington , where our guests will include Michael Young, Jeff Zimmerman, and Derek Holland.

What exactly is the Newberg Report bound edition?
And why would I pay 25 for it? I’m being serious if someone could answer those questions.

To be brief:
It is the No. 1 publication as it relates to the Texas Rangers farm system, and the organization as a whole. Not only do you get an absurd amount of rankings (last year, I’m pretty sure he had a list of "Top 10 Right-Handed Relief Pitchers Under 22 That Were Born West of the Mississippi), you get all sorts of fun stuff in there, like a transaction hornbook and a deep, thorough explanation about how things like the Rule 5 draft, free agency, waivers, etc. work.
Oh, and if you let him, Jamey will write just about everything you want to know (and some things you don’t) about Random Prospect X. And it will make you excited about Random Prospect X.

if you put the link in the body of the post as opposed to the headline
it will actually work as a link

No, but...
…he helped Erica with the “About My Dad” entry at the back of the book this year. The final sentence in the book is my absolute favorite out of all 300 pages, courtesy of Max.

Is it...
…“My dad can beat up your dad”?

Question please
I give up. What is the genesis/significance of your choosing Trot Coffey for Hot Stove scuttlebut?
I’m usually ok at figuring these things out, but evidently, my baseball reference drawer is failing me here.

Sometimes...
…(and I’m sure Adam can relate), I just have to amuse myself a bit, just to keep from falling any further into a rut than is sometimes inevitable.
