Turkey Day Football Thread
Time for a little turkey, some dressing, and an afternoon of Cowboys Football!
Hopefully, the Cowboys will come out focussed and ready to play. With every game being a must-win, they can't afford to have a let down against a really bad team.
On a side note, stars that come in to sing the National Anthem should avoid trying to jazz it up. Really.
Note to Adam. The 75 word limit is really, really, really, really annoying.

Yeah, sure
Focused, right.
Normally they’re not focused, I mean it’s just their job that pays millions and all, and what they do 24-7.
But on that drive, they were.
They must be “playing hard” also,
And loaded with “talent” too.
But only on that drive.

Garrett
Did his annoying “line up in shotgun and throw” on third and 1 that drive.
He got away with it because of a penalty, but along with plowing into the line on 2nd and 10, that’s a consistently annoying situational call from Garrett.
You should be running 80-90% of the time on third and one, and passing the same amount on 2nd and ten..

so what happens if OU loses
TT goes to the national champ game
texas should stay in the top 3 (probably will end up in the NC game, right?)
and florida/bama goes #1?

Man I don't know
If OU losses then TT goes to the Big XII CG and if they beat Mizzou I don’t know. If the Longhorn fans say UT should be ranked ahead of the Sooners because of the head to head then so does TT right? It is all jacked up this year. I do know one thing I don’t want either USC or Penn St. jumping any of the Big XII teams to go the the NC.

We will agree to disagree on this
A loss is still a loss. The Sooners lost to UT but the Sooners were ahead most of the game until Renyolds got hurt on defense that is when UT pulled away. Either way a loss is still a loss. All three have a loss as of right now. Texas can’t have their cake and eat it too. If UT should be ranked ahead of OU then TT should be ranked ahead of UT if you want to go down that road.

'loss is still a loss'
well, win is still a win, u kept up bringing that Texas barely beat OSU. Then, with your logic OU should not have jumped Texas in either polls because a win is still a win not matter how they won…

FSU is better than most people think
and with the game in Tallahassee, there might be a chance at an upset. But if your scenario does play out, then I think it would almost have to be 2 of the Big 12 South teams going against each other, but I doubt thatd happen. Knowing the BCS, theyd try to stick USC in the Championship Game, and that would be hell

What a nice call from Garrett on 3rd and 1
There’s your beautiful scheming right there. Just tricked em on the spread out draw. After they ran into a brick wall the first time. I knew he was going to spread things out after the 1st play.
I’d as soon lined up and tried to muscle it in again but hey, that’ll work.
So now it’s 14-0, nice because the defense didn’t look good on the first drive. Now plenty of breathing room for the defense.

As good as Texas is (and they are very, very good), it’s hard to get super-impressed with them when playing A&M. They could beat them 100-0 and I’d think, “Yeah…but goodness, A&M is terrible.”
It’s like Mike Tyson (vintage Iron Mike) fighting, say, miles. Even though miles would tout his status and tradition, he would just get bulldozed regardless of what kind of effort Tyson put into the fight.

Hmm.
Roy Williams…
Receiver Roy Williams had two catches for 51 yards against the Seahawks, but he’s not going to campaign for more. Williams said he feels like he’s a part of the offense. But as for quarterback Tony Romo, “The gunslinger ain’t throwing it my way.”
Williams has just 11 catches since being traded to the Cowboys on Oct. 14. He’s talked numerous times about simply waiting for his opportunity. But he’s on pace to have his worst season as a pro.
Learning the playbook isn’t the issue. “I done swallowed that thing whole,” he said.
As for why he won’t complain, Williams said, “We’re winning. Winning cures all.”
I’d like to see him get more looks too, but Jesus, Romo’s just now getting into the groove. Your time will come, Roy.

OU lost to Texas. If tech wants to worry about it, tell them to do something about it. Great answer.
Pollsters have them 7th right now. If it’s between OU and Texas, it’s Texas because, well, they BEAT OU pretty good on a neutral field.

Texas lost to the #7 team in the country, Oklahoma lost to the #2/3 team, seems to mean that OU lost to a more impressive opponent than UT.

But why should they even be 7th?
They beat UT, so they should be ranked above UT if you think UT should be ranked above OU because they beat them. All 3 teams are sitting on the same record and only reason Tech is so low is because they were the last to lose, which under that OU deserves to be at the top since it’s been the longest since their loss.

Tech is so low
The reason Tech is so low is because they were absolutely destroyed by OU. If they had only lost that game by a few points then they would be higher AND might have a case in this discussion.

If OU beats OSU, FSU beats Florida, and Auburn beats Alabama we could possible have a Texas-OU rematch for the National Championship. Even if Texas doesn’t go to the Big XII title game, how can someone not argue that Texas and OU are the two best teams. Can you imagine how crazy a Red River Shootout National Championship game whould be?

Last night
He completed a 5 yard pass that the receiver turned into about 35 yards. As the receiver was running down the sidelines one of A&M’s other receivers came back and made one of the wicked blocks on a guy chasing the ball carrier and didn’t see him coming. It was a big hit and a clean one. Well, McGee runs down there and gets in the UT guy’s face about it as he is scraping himself up off the turf.
Later, Sergio Kindle sacked McGee (AGAIN) and as Kindle was going off the field McGee ran over to the Texas sideline to get in his face for some reason.
McGee just strikes me as one of those guys who tries a little too hard to show everyone how enthusiastic he is and just comes off as a douche.
