Saturday a.m. things
I don't see anything out there this morning.
We need more Rangers news. Someone call Jon Daniels and tell him to trade a catcher.

PTBNL
Any ideas on the PTBNLs for the Littleton trade?
Signature! I don't need no stinking signature!!
Id settle for undoing the littleton thing
And a catcher trade during the winter meetings.
the preceding post was a great success.

Well, yeah...
But the Rangers had pretty clearly given up on Littleton. He is out of options, and the team preferred to continue to dick around with Jamey Wright last year than take a long look at Littleton.

since the Littleton thing is unlikely to be undone
would you settle for a Sheets signing and a catcher trade?
In memory of Ulysses Simpson Grant Stoner. RIP Lil Stoner.
I'll get right on it
Me: JD. Make a move already! The armchair GMs at lonestar ball are starving for some news.
JD: Alright. I think I’ll give Matt Kata a two-year contract. How about that?
Me: Nooo!

Wes Littleton
So, I tell the Girl that the Rangers traded Wes to the Red Sox for a PTBL. Her response: “you guys keep sending your shitty players to us.” Eric Gagne will not be fogotten or forgiven soon.
Nothing pithy here. Please move long.
She doesn't want Salty
She wants Tea, which I’ve said ain’t happening.
Nothing pithy here. Please move long.
How have you guys not started making references to “Teabagging” whenever Taylor does something great yet?

No

Epstein appears to be stocking generic right-handed relievers. Something’s up (probably bullpen ERA and the like.)
All snark about crappy pitchers aside, the Red Sox pitching staff was rather dodgy last year and Littleton has to be an improvement on Mike Timlin.
I simply can’t understand why the Rangers keep trading pitching. Of course, stupidity around Littleton’s options led to having to dump him in the first place.
With all due respect...
This is Wes Littleton we’re talking about here. The reason the Rangers keep trading pitching (in this case) is because said pitching isn’t very good.
I was reading the comments on MLBTR (bad move there) and some guy was talking about Littleton throwing 95-96. I had to stifle a giggle.
Am I wrong?
Or is there a sort of growing synergy between the RedSox and the Rangers? Not sure how to describe the sense of it, maybe a willingness to deal when and if you have what the other guy needs (without doing any direct favors, of course).

It seems the same on this side, too.
I think a deal makes too much sense to not get done: the Rangers don’t have the only catcher the Sox are looking at, but they probably have the one they like the best. At the Same time the Sox are in a position where they are willing to deal young pitching talent, which the Rangers need (and quite a few teams will keep a death grip on). The teams will have to meet in the middle (especially if the Rangers talent evaluators don’t like Bowden), but any deal where you don’t flinch a little is probably just a rip off.
