Interesting Royals discussion...

Saw this on MLB Trade Rumors:

Bob Dutton of the Kansas City Star says the Braves appear willing to trade Jeff Francoeur. While no trade talks have taken place, it's known that Royals GM Dayton Moore is a fan. Dutton speculates that the Royals would not give up Zack Greinke for Francoeur, but may consider offering Luke Hochevar, Danny Cortes, or Mark Teahen.

I'm not real interested in Teahen, but I would have interest in Hochevar and/or Cortes. Wouldn't it be a reasonable risk to take if the Royals would accept David Murphy to KC for Hochevar?

Don't we have better outfielders to trade than Francoeur!?!

the problem with a rumor like that

is that, to me, those guys have vastly different values, with Hochevar quite a bit above the other two. so if it’s Francour for Cortes or Teahen, let that happen.

Also, it has become apparent that Moore covets Braves from his time in Atl.

Did you see the note about Moore gobbling up all the low OBP players. HA!!
Hochevar seems high for Francoeur, but i would do Mayberry for Cortes and see if they bite. Something like that.

I would do way more

than Mayberry for Cortes. I think Cortes would slot in somewhere after Feliz/Holland and probably ahead of Main and definitely ahead of Perez in the Rangers rankings.
