Newberg Report book release party for the 2009 BE

 Just wondering who's all going?

Or who might try and go. I'm going. I've been to all but one over the years.

It's at 6-9 PM, Dec 10. at Sherlock's Baker St. Pub. So we can all have some beers and drinks :). Here's the phone number if you need to call 817-226-2300 and get some info on the menu, food, drinks, etc

FOF - we (well I do) love him, Jeff Zimmerman, Derek Holland will be there. Looking forward to seeing all three. I'm looking forward to seeing Michael Young. I've met him several times and always love talking to him.

I'll be there

I plan on asking Franchise Face if most of the players in the clubhouse are really douchebags like CJ said.

;)

And I’d love to have a drink w/ you hurler.

In memory of Ulysses Simpson Grant Stoner. RIP Lil Stoner.

Hey, we’ll salute – propose a toast to CJ’s douchebags

Sherlocks

is usually a 21 and up place….

though I assume Jamey has rented the left side of the place out, so maybe they’ll relax that 21 and up policy?

It’s not a problem for me, I just thought you might want to check before driving all the way out there =

I just called to make sure.

No age issues. We have the large room on the right side (where they have concerts) rented out for ourselves.

oh nice

how many are you expecting? That’s a pretty big room

Fire Todd Dodge. Seriously. 45 given up in the 1st quarter. Wow. But still we're better than Washington! Oh and, SUCK IT WESTERN KENTUCKY! 1-10 baby!

Heh

be sure to call HH and find out about the menu. Make HH pick just one name to go by at the party.

Boo

It could be such a great subplot though: “Which one is HH?”

I mean, that would last like a whole 60 seconds or something.

That idea has merit,

but I think the guy with a drink in each hand wearing the John Danks jersey and slurred speech talking to himself might be a giveaway.

Can I have a ride in your hummer?

Before you start drinking of course.

If that’s too much to ask for, I understand.

I had a paper route when I was a kid. I was supposed to go to 2,000 houses. Or two dumpsters.

I'd go if Adam was going.

I have a question...

I plan on going, but do the players actually hang out and talk to people? Or do they just sit behind a desk signing and then leave? Thanks in advance!

by TexHammer1983 on Dec 2, 2008 11:46 AM CST reply actions   0 recs

In past years, they've done a Q&A.

Which is usually just an excuse for Grant Schiller to prove, once again, that he is a beast. I remember my first Newberg event… Grant (who is literally a kid with a blog) got the first question, and rattled off about eight in a row, all exceptionally poignant and thought-provoking.

by miles on Dec 2, 2008 4:00 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Usually...

…the players have spent lots of time hanging out. In the past we’ve had Kinsler, Danks, Chris Young, Teagarden, BGL, Davis, Beavan, Duran, Mathis, Kam, and about a dozen others — in most cases they were there to shut the place down with me, once everyone else left.

by Jamey Newberg on Dec 2, 2008 1:09 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Jamey,

Thanks for the response. I’m even more excited about the party now!

by TexHammer1983 on Dec 2, 2008 2:52 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Cool...

…and I don’t want to take it for granted that everyone here who is thinking about coming is on my mailing list — admission to the event is free, but to get autographs from the players, you have to buy the 2009 book ($25).
