This is from Shroomer who posted this in the "No more Fanposts" Fanpost. I truly think this should be discussed (and I haven't done a lick of work today, so what the hell).
This is interesting from the standpoint of 1) no more Evan Grant covering the Rangers? (I, although not being in DFW, find him very interesting) and; 2) more newspaper downsizing due to things like Cragslist, which have killed a huge source of revenue.
I'm wondering what people think about newspapers dying off since now it may directly affect Rangers coverage. It makes me somewhat sad. I grew up with no cable (back in the late 80s, this was unheard of) and followed baseball through newspapers. Granted, I can now get a boxscore anywhere but what I fear losing the reporters on the scene (and outside the lines) who can provide some perspective.
Here's an interesting bit why newspapers may be on the cusp of newfound success from Rupert Murdoch.
And yes, I might be a hypocrite based on my previous fanshot. But I still know how to delete this if necessary.
Again, all credit to Shroomer, but I felt it deserved its own place.
