Offseason Splash Poll:
I always like an offseason poll of if/when we'll make a splash. I think this is a perfect time for the poll since some big signings went down and things could be brewing now for mid-small market teams.
I figure this could bring a little better discussion then the rumor diaries going around. Especially when it's dead at this current second.
Anywho (ah 5 friggin words short)....here's the question:

Without a Christmas mini-blockbuster from JD.

Wow looks like we're all either going to be dead on...
or disappointed this year as far as Texas Rangers hollidays are concerned…unless JD pulled out one this week which is possible to setup for maybe another semi-big move ;)

How can we predict anything but Christmas week?

Big stuff always happens when I'm out of town
right before Christmas. Always.
I’m out of town the 21st through 28th. I predict one signing that isn’t obvious, and one trade involving one of our young pitchers (that is practically guaranteed when I leave town that week)

Dang middle of nowhere, no cell coverage, using Dad’s laptop…at least they have high speed now :)

Verizon
I’ve traveled the country extensively and I rarely lose coverage with Verizon even
in the smallest 2 pony towns.

Both...
2:13 AM that Teagarden has been traded for the rights to Babe Ruth’s body.
2:13 PM that we have signed Einar Diaz to a contract.

Christmas/Chanukah time
If its not a Christmas day present, JD has 7 other days to make it happen for a Chanukah present. So my vote is between December 21 and December 27. We will sign Ben Sheets on December 23, 2008 at 9:42 P.M.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

I'm not sure what kind of jokes good comedians like to tell, but they probably don't use shit from last year.
