Win and in.

Should be an epic.

Fire Todd Dodge. Seriously. 45 given up in the 1st quarter. Wow. But still we're better than Washington! Oh and, SUCK IT WESTERN KENTUCKY! 1-10 baby!

Jerry Jones rescues the Boys again

Vows Philips and Garrett back next season in the paper. Sort of, anyway.

Thats the right choice. They deserve another year.

The Cowboys definitely deserve

another year of Wade, Jason, and no playoffs. I approve this message.

Romo:

“I’m going to play relaxed and with a smile on my face.”

says the guy complaining about the demeanor of his qb.

what difference does it make. for some reason if he was yelling at people after every interception he would be better?

all i said was its worked out pretty well for him. 2 probowls a whole lot of money and a bunch of commercials would say so.

he hasnt performed in the playoffs or the biggest games thus far and hes not exactly a perfect qb. i didnt say otherwise.

the preceding post was a great success.

by DSheppard on Dec 28, 2008 3:28 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

You don't have to yell to be a leader.

With his ability, if he had Aikman’s focus and steady leadership abilities, he’d be unstoppable. He’s a kid playing a man’s game, kind of like Elway was when he was a young QB. Notice how when Elway matured, he finally won the big one? Tony has to decide to grow up. It takes more than raw talent to win in the NFL.

by Athos on Dec 28, 2008 3:32 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

you act like hes on the sideline pulling a bunch of pranks on people after an INT

hes half-heartedly smiling and shaking his head after a bad play. come on.

the preceding post was a great success.

by DSheppard on Dec 28, 2008 3:38 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

You're right.

His crappy performance late in the season and in big games has nothing to do with his attitude or focus. The “bad play” fairies just take over and make his brilliant decision making yield bad results. What was I thinking?

by Athos on Dec 28, 2008 3:41 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

How is that whatsoever a reply to what I said

what the hell are you talking about.

maybe he does crumble under pressure, but why does that have anything to do with his demeanor? his happy go lucky-ness doesnt kill him when he racks up all his stats early in the season. does demeanor only effect you in playoff games?

the preceding post was a great success.

by DSheppard on Dec 28, 2008 3:45 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Hey, I agreed with you.

His crappy play in high pressure games doesn’t have anything to do with his focus. Nothing at all. Can’t possibly have anything to do with it. You win. Move on … and let’s hope he keeps on smiling.

by Athos on Dec 28, 2008 3:49 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

you could try some actual logic rather than that nonsense.

its not clever. its not funny. it doesnt make me wrong.

just stupid.

the preceding post was a great success.

by DSheppard on Dec 28, 2008 3:50 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Fine.

It doesn’t make you wrong, just stupid. You win. My logical arguments earlier in the thread were ignored or dismissed with arguments that had NO basis in logic, so I decided to argue on your level. And now I’ve conceded. A QB who acts like a grinning buffoon when he screws up is a good thing. A QB that prepares for a huge playoff game by taking a trip to Mexico is the epitome of a QB that focuses on his job. He’s great. You win.

by Athos on Dec 28, 2008 3:53 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Whatever you say, Ace.

Keep smiling … it wins big games!

by Athos on Dec 28, 2008 3:58 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

For gods sake

i didnt say it was good thing. my entire opinion was that I didnt care.

look, ignore all that trash. straight up answer me a question.

what about a player’s demeanor effects him only in playoff games? if that attitude hurts you in football, why doesn’t it hurt him for the first 3/4 of the season?

my opinion is that his attitude is a non-issue, and while I wanted more evidence it does appear that thusfar he is struggling in big games and thats an issue. but you can be dead serious and struggle in big games, I want to know why you think its related.

the preceding post was a great success.

I just think it’s funny how everybody on LSB used to argue ferociously with me that OC doesnt matter and it’s all about the talent.

Now lately, Jason Garett is INCREDIBLY important, apparently. Since he’s the cause of the team downfall, I guess.

Thanks for coming around to my side, I guess.

I bet if we’re 4-12 next year without Garrett, the OC will be very little criticized. I remember when we sucked, like with Jack Reilly, the OC wasnt criticized.

They need to remove the "kill" ability

from Romo…he makes a bad decision typically and if it IS a kill call, they ALWAYS run the ball…so the defense knows what’s coming.

Food for thought.

JG’s play calling has started to look distressingly like Parcells used to. They run few vertical plays unless they get behind. It really reminds me of the Quincy days when Bill called a conservative game to keep Quincy from making poor decisions. He started that after Romo got hurt and hasn’t really moved away from it. The question is, has JG continued to call a conservative game because Romo has been playing crappy, or is Romo playing crappy because of the game calling? Part of me wants to give Romo the benefit of the doubt, but then he makes a horrible throw and it looks like JG has no confidence in him. Either way, it has created a formula for failure.

Running on 2nd and 12

Didn’t exactly kill that drive but it was still stupid and once again JG follows his pattern of running on 2nd and long. If we can see it so can the defense, besides that it’s just stupid.

As bad as the offense has looked today and to end the season I’m starting to question Garrett myself. So I guess you guys will now all decide he’s the greatest OC in the history of mankind lol.

It’s either a horse collar or it isn’t. It’s really a pretty simple call to make. You MUST bring the player down by the inside of the shoulder pads or the inside of the jersey. He stopped him with a horsecaller type grab and then threw him down without holding the horsecollar and threw him down while the man was still inbounds.

by Chris Hanes on Dec 28, 2008 4:38 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

He reached out, grabbed inside the pads

then swung around off the ground (Before tackling), only reason that wasn’t called was because the receiver stayed upright.

This team will never win another superbowl with Jones as owner/GM. I started saying that in the late 90’s and retracted it when he hired Parcells. Now I’m back believe it 100%.

That may be the worse half of football

that I’ve seen by a team in 10 or 20 years.

I'd love for part of the "new look" to be a return to the red uniforms of the 1990s. - Ian Kinsler

one quarter of horrible football.

i thought wade/jg was safe..

but have to wonder about jerry now, since this was such a disaster.

Nobody should be safe

JG has been one of the worst OC this year imo.

the offense is ranked in the top 10

In fact I heard some radio show this weekend, they were saying statistically it’s incredibly rare for a team to be top 10 in both offense and defense and not make the playoffs. Strangely both Dallas and Philly are in the top 10 in both areas this season, and both were on the playoff fringe going into this game.

But it did point out that statistically, Dallas has been pretty good this year.

Yeah

but that doesn’t include Romo’s awful decision-making and JG’s pathetic play-calls.

LOL

You may not like JG but he hasnt been close to the worst..

Once again you’re making the asinine “assumption” everybody does that the Cowboys are uber talented and would just naturally go 12-4. Of course with my feelings on talent, I know thats total bunk.

by Sharky on Dec 28, 2008 4:50 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Deep down inside

It felt good that they made that field goal.

Might as well send a message to Jerry and just make this a 40 to 3 anal destruction of this franchise.

Get this turned in the right direction next year.

This off-season will be interesting

Since most skeptics believe Jones brought Parcells to get a new stadium, since he now has it will he go the puppet route again or hire a hard-ass?

One thing is certain

Wade has to go.

Could the beatdown be so bad, that he buries the hatchet and tries to bring in Jimmy Johnson in a supreme return to cowboys glory?

by SaltyGoesYard on Dec 28, 2008 4:45 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Who to hire then?

I totally vote Parcells.

turn it all over to him.

Screw that

we need a big-time name that Jerry will let coach and have authority.

Didn’t the majority of the fans want a players coach in here? It seems they did and now they got it.

They wanted Roy Williams. And now they have him.
