OT: Greatest quote on LSB
Let's face it, nothing is happening today or this week concerning the Rangers. So I decided to put this poll up to pass some time. What is the greatest quote on LSB? Our two nominees are our own Baseball Jesus with-

I went
with the Salty quote. The second one at least has one fact in it, Liriano did blow out his elbow.

I do use it. And if you’re not too obtuse to notice, almost everytime I use that asanine moniker I am speaking to you, Your Noobness, mocking you. TRZA and I had a few laughs over that, too. Running joke.
But seriously, thanks. That was a nice little comedy medley. When I get home from work I may peruse on through it some more.

What would the Mariners do about the gaping whole in their lineup? Because their gaping hole without Beltre would be like the A’s gaping hole without Holliday, and I would say that our gaping hole isn’t nearly as gaping as the A’s hole or Mariner’s would be.

Heh
Cool, I’m winning.
And for the record, I still think Joba sucks. Well, not sucks, but I think he’s gonna wind up a reliever, not a starter – which was the context I meant that quote in. I wouldn’t want to trade Salty for a releiver, not even a closer.

Soria could still be converted back into a starter
So I might do that one. Nathan is pretty good as well.
But the thing is, I value a starter a lot more than a do a closer, especially considering that’s our big weakness. I think accquiring a good young SP talent with top-end potential is much more important than accquiring someone who’s not even going to get any work unless there’s a save opportunity (and thanks to our offense and rotation, we had some pretty long spells between those last year – just ask Fx2).

I don't disagree with you on that.
I value a starter over a closer as well. But I’m talking about what you would trade Salty for… I’d be happy dealing Salty for just about any closer. Hell, I’d be happy with a Salty to Fla deal for Lindstrom+something.

Nathan? no too old, doesnt fit our profile for winning longterm
Jenks? been hurt more than id want, wouldnt move a top prospect for him. a package of lesser prospects? sure.
Soria? maybe, id have to spend more tim thinking on that one.
Lidge? no, we coulda bought low on him when we wanted him if we did.
