Around SBN: FSU To Big 12 'Inevitable,' According To Report

Saturday morning

It doesn't appear that there is any Rangers stuff out there.

Really quiet winter for Texas so far.

I got some news

That I like, and most don’t.. and really like if Padilla or Millwood is traded.

Jack Magruder of the East Valley Tribune has the scoop on Randy Johnson’s suitors. He says the Giants, Dodgers, Brewers, A’s, Rangers, and Cubs have expressed interest in the 45 year-old lefty.

I did see this...

little article from the Detroit Free Press this morning:

Not sure if anyone linked this in one of the Laird threads, but it really seems as if both the Reds and Tigers really want Laird. I believe that JD will finally pull the trigger on moving a catcher at the winter meetings. Perhaps even sooner.

updated story

here

The Tigers would be hesitant to deal right-handed starter Guillermo Moscoso, since there is some belief within the organization that he could reach the majors by the end of next year. Moscoso struck out 122 in 86 2/3 innings this season between Class A Lakeland and Double-A Erie.

The Tigers have no plans to trade top prospects Rick Porcello or Casey Crosby, but there are intriguing names in the next group of starters: right-handers Brandon Hamilton and Luis Marte, and left-handers Jonathan Kibler and Mauricio Robles.

Hmm

Moscoso would be a coup.

Kibler and Robles are interesting, but I’d pass on Hamilton or Marte. That’s just not enough value for a starting ML catcher.

This is an exciting time in my life.

The LSB CPP's are in full bloom.

Yeah

You never hear shit before JD pulls off a trade. I think the Soriano to Wash caught me off guard the most. I knew he was gonna be traded but to Wash? And it went down in the middle of the night. I think the only trade that was in the media the whole time was the Tex trade.

Fire Todd Dodge. Seriously. 45 given up in the 1st quarter. Wow. But still we're better than Washington! Oh and, SUCK IT WESTERN KENTUCKY! 1-10 baby!

I've noticed that a couple of infielders ...

Furcal and Blake have had talks break down with teams that were pursuing them. I wonder if this is a signal that the owners are trying to hold salaries down for next season (with obvious exceptions for guys like Sabathia)?

I think it's more of a sign

those guys were asking for too much combined with the teams they were negotiating with not being known for throwing money at free agents. If you’re going to break the bank you don’t do it with Minnesota and Oakland.

Furcal on a 2 year deal

Move FFace to 3rd a little early and move Blalock for something. Just a thought.

Would be nice...

but not with the talk of how tight $ is in Arlington right now. Any $ that can be spent needs to be on pitching imo.
