OT: Next Phase in Stadium Building?

This is an artists rendering of the proposed $450M stadium which would be built in St. Petersburg for the Rays. Looks pretty cool, on the edge of the water like the Giants stadium, but appears to have a better view from the water. I don't know how to just post the picture, so I'll post the link. Thoughts?

The roof
thing is kind of resmarted...

I wish I had property around arenas/stadiums...

Like at the AAC, those people are now charging 20 bucks a pop for parking...

I take
that back, the roof is cool, but it doesn't cover everything...

Or is that glass?

Nice looking...
But just wait until it gets hit by a hurricane. That roof won't be long for this world.

But hey, Rays fans need some kind of upgrade from the artificial peice of crap they play on now - the Trop is probably a big reason why Rocco Baldelli's knees won't hold up. Even the fans hate that stadium - remember when we played that series against them in Disney World? That was a PR move by the Rays to try to improve attendance. Apparently, nobody wants to go sit in their stupid dome.

hurricanes...
The whole Tampa Bay area has been pretty fortunate when it comes to a busy hurricane season.  Pinellas County in particular (where St. Pete is), hasn't been hit head on by a hurricane in a LONG time.

Waiting for the obligatory
thedirkatraon comment about how much the Trop sucks.

But seriously it does... It feels like you're in a bomb shelter or something.  The floors are slimy and cold, and it just feels like the opposite of the ballpark feeling you want when you go to a game.

I like it
Though I'm probably in the minority, I like to see forward thinking in terms of design.  I rather we as a society save and restore our history than try to recreate it with Xerox copy designs that remind us of how ballparks use to look.

Only one problem
with that artists rendering: it appears there are actually people in the stands.
