The Texas Rangers signed right-handed starter Brandon McCarthy and six others to one-year contracts Monday.

McCarthy will make $404,810 in 2008 after going 5-10 with a 4.87 ERA last season, when he battled blisters on his pitching hand and a stress fracture in his right shoulder.

The others to sign were pitchers Wes Littleton ($397,510), A.J. Murray ($392,000), Omar Beltre ($390,000) and Alexi Ogando ($390,000); outfielder David Murphy ($393,000); and infielder Travis Metcalf ($392,000).

Four players on the team's 40-man roster remain unsigned: left-handed closer C.J. Wilson, right-handers Thomas Diamond and Robinson Tejeda and outfielder Jason Botts. They are expected to sign before Wednesday's spring opener against Kansas City.
