I'm So Excited

Looking at our starting rotation going into 2008 based on what they did in 2007:

W-L = 25/43
IP = 539
Runs = 319
ERA = 5.33

Boy, I'm so excited......pump me up sheep!

Broussard/Whiffy
Seeing that Whiffy signed with Seattle for 3 million and that we traded for Broussard for 3.5 million + a prospect, I'd have to say I'd rather have Whiffy at the 3 mil mark (as much as I disliked him).

Why bitch about it Brooks
Have some faith in your team, and if you don't go cheer for a winning club like the bosox.

It's okay to complain a little... but if you're not gonna offer solutions, or at least have an outlook that things might improve, then why complain over and over?

agree
I really hate Wilk but he has so much more value than Broussard. At 3 mil Wilk issn't so bad.

too bad
the rangers couldn't have signed him at 3M.  but don't let facts get in the way of a good argument

Puzzled
I really don't see where the Rangers fascination with Broussard came from.

well
before going to Safeco, he did pretty good in a hitter friendly park...Unlike Wilky who sucked in a hitter friendly park. It's going to get even uglier in Safeco for Wilkerson.
Should have traded for Kobe when they had the chance...

Misinterpreted?
"Boy, I'm so excited......pump me up sheep!"

Pretty clear the last sentence was directed at someone else.  LBrooks is excited because "he"'s  ovulating, and "he"'s getting ready to spread it for "his" pet sheep "Hammertime". Why sheep though LBrooks?  Aren't their arms too short to do a reach-around?

 The only thing Brooks gets on is his all fours.

ummm Math please
Milwood  10-14
Padilla  6-10
Gabbard  6-1
McCarthy 5-10
Jennings 2-9
Total:   29-44

And most of these guys didn't even pitch a full season.  So if you factor in the reported shape of these guys during the offseason and a little faith I would say for Rangers standards we have some reason for a little excitement.

Most likely he's like other Dallas fans
who find pleasure in trashing the local team yet when the team does well they're the first in line to buy merchandise and proclaim their lifelong devotion.

Shit like what?
The truth?  LBrooks is a certified lunatic but as much as it pains us to believe it, those numbers are accurate.  The 5 guys that will be in the rotation in 2008 pretty much sucked ass in 2007.
Oh Man!!!!

by SwiperNoSwiping on Feb 3, 2008 10:33 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

That rotation in 2006
Millwood 16-12, 4.52 ERA
Padilla  15-10, 4.50 ERA
McCarthy 4-7,   4.68 ERA
Jennings 9-13,  3.78 ERA
Gabbard  1-3,   3.51 ERA

and
Tejeda   5-5,   4.28 ERA

Overall that's a 4.28 ERA

Will this group be able to return to that form in 2008. I wouldn't wager on it.  However, they are likely to be closer to those numbers than their combined 2007 numbers with any luck at all.  If healthy (yes, I realize that's a big if), this could be an above average rotation.  No horse at the top, but 4 potential solid 2/3 type starters. The White Sox rode that to a WS title a few years ago.

We aren't on that path of course, but this rotation isn't anywhere as bad as it looked last year.

by badradiorules on Feb 3, 2008 10:55 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Well...
you posted it before I could. This rotation scares me alot, but I think they could do much better than last year. Or they could do about the same.

For Swiper, I was actually referring to all the negative bs that LBrooks always posts though.

Not Nearly......
.....as well thought out as your post last year on the Newberg Report where you trashed your own teammate, Joquain Benoit.

Who, BTW, was the best pitcher on this team last year and had much better numbers than yourself.

LBrooks = 13-year-old girl looking for attention
It's the only explanation. Who else would go so thoroughly out of his way to write inflammatory, clearly provocation-minded posts for all to see? It is becoming more and more apparent that LBrooks is a middle school girl.
