Kelvim Escobar battling shoulder injury

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3234453

I don't ever want to wish an injury on any player. Nevertheless, if Escobar's shoulder irritation does persist beyond spring training and limits his playing time this season, that could bode well for the Rangers chances of contending.

I realize the Rangers chances of contending are close to nil. Even so, the only way it could conceivably occur is if the Angels and Mariners have some setbacks, such as injuries.

It will be interesting to see if Escobar is fully healthy and effective at the beginning of the season.

Meh
I am resigned to the fact that the Rangers will not contend this year. I'm aiming for 2009.

Still, anything that will get the Rangers closer to the top, I'm not against.

What are my chances?

Not good.

You mean not good, like one out of a

hundred?

MARY

I'd say more like one out of a

million.

So you're telling me there's a

Schilling
Isn't he really just an injury away from retiring?

the closer the rangers are to first
the (ever so slightly) more attractive they are to free agents(and i wouldnt mind signing a good one this time around). so i encourage all pitchers on LA to get injured.

Why stop at pitchers?
There's a perverse logic in your point, and I think we need a man on the inside of that clubhouse to bring it to fruition.  We get one Ranger loyalist in there for a month or two, and all of a sudden Vlad's involved in a mail fraud ring, Weaver gets a piano dropped on him, and K Rod is attacked by an angry bobcat that stuffed inside of his locker.

A man can dream.

volunteers for the bobcat, anyone?

Hey, I live out here in SoCal...
I'm already in position! So what's the name of this bobcat, and how do I get him into the locker?
I could use some baseball.

Lots of possibilities here
Since he's the official LSB sabotage bobcat, I humbly suggest we call him Furry Ruben Sierra.

Escobar
If he is injured, and the Mariners do accquire Bedard, those two peices of news combined are gonna be very bad for the Angels. It might give the M's a serious chance if the Angels have to spend the majority of the season with Ervin "longball" Santana in their rotation.

As for giving us a chance... no. Maybe if John Lackey boke his pitching arm tomorrow, that might give us a chance... but just Escobar alone gone doesn't rob the Angels of enough wins for us to catch them.

I could use some baseball.
