Science says bring back the red!
Well, anthropologists at least. I guess we absolutely have to bring back the red jerseys now if we're ever going to be a winning team.
and more here
Have fun...

Maybe it's a larger persuasion. If you believe it's so, it helps make it so. I still like whites and silvers (maybe to escalate from the animal kingdom up to godlike, a level above).

Univ. of Wisconsin
The visiting locker room is very spartan. No need to lavish luxury on the enemy. There was controversy over the color of the visiting locker rooms. Red is an aggressive color. No need to help the visitors' aggression. Pink is a passive color, and they considered kind of a salmon pink. Pink apparently depresses testosterone levels for 2 hours after exposure. Wisconsin finally settled on baby blue, feeling that created a sufficiently pacifying environment for the visitors.
Slight skew:
I've wondered about the competitive disadvantage of having your jersey be more visible.
Consider a QB glimpsing, under pressure, between the hulking linemen, a defensive secondary of Arizona Cardinals wearing red jerseys. He can see the red-jersied DBs easily.
Now, consider the same QB glimpsing, under pressure, between the hulks, a defensive secondary of teal/soft green Seattle Seahawks. The DBs are comparatively camouflaged.
Testosterone advantage: Cardinals.
Camouflage advantage: Seahawks.
I think of this when I see the Houston Rockets play on the road. Their jerseys are so bright. It must be difficult for them to sneak into passing lanes.

True Story
We played at Iowa in 2003.
The head coach (Dirk Koetter - now the Jacksonville Jags O.C.) had us tape up pink paper to cover all the locker room walls with the intention that it get the players used to the pink locker room when we got there.
The result of the game: ASU lost 21-2.
Whoops.

I'd actually argue the opposite on this:
It's very important for the guy with the ball to see his players and I think that's much more important then players "sneaking into passing lanes." I just can't see that happening all too often. Is this respect I give the advantage to the Rockets.
