keith law has a blog post with some rangers notes up....
Blake Beavan threw two innings for Texas' low-A club. He's softened his delivery slightly over where it was last spring, when he would stick his landing like a figure skater; his front leg is still stiff, just less so. He came at hitters with an 87-91 mph fastball with very good run to his glove side, and he flashed good tilt on an inconsistent slider. There's still a lot of effort in his delivery -- he gets his velocity mostly from his arm, and not enough from his lower half -- which he's going to have to reduce to remain a starter.
Eighteen-year-old Wilfredo Boscan threw the last inning for the Rangers' low-A club, showing an 89-92 mph fastball and a curveball with some sharpness to its break. He's very skinny, listed at 6-foot-2 and 160 pounds, and has plenty of physical projection. He'll make his U.S. debut this year after pitching in the Dominican Summer League in 2007.
