OT: DeAngelo Hall to Raiders

Will be traded for a 2nd round pick, possibly more. That seems a little light.

Then, he'll be extended for 7 / $70 MM. That seems a little much?

What are some CB alternatives that you would like to see the Cowboys target?

Boys
I'd love to land Talib or Flowers in the draft and possibly bring in PacMan as punt returner/nickel DB.

DHall
give up a 1st rounder.

Overrated
that is way too much oney for a guy who is solid but not great. With the way corners are getting money these days (ex. nate clements), If I am correct in that Newman is a free agent in the next few years, I'm scared to see how much Jerry is going to have to pay him.

do you know how the contract is structured?

just to point out
Newman was a year older (25) when he was drafted than Hall is right now.  he's a #1 CB type talent and is still a kid.  for a 2nd rounder? sure.  he was a top 5 draft talent 2 seasons ago.  all he has done to drop his value is be totally frustrated on a totally frustrated team.

And that whole...
playing overagressively such that he often gets burned, run his mouth so much that he costs his team massive amount of penalty yards, and be a general jackass.

He'll fit right in in Oakland...

Fabian Washington
A former first round pick who has been crowded out of the Raiders' talented secondary.  He could probably be had for a 4th or 5th round pick and would really help us out in nickel and dime coverages short term and possibly as a starter down the road.  It also gives us some flexibility in the first round, so that we can grab a solid corner if one falls, but not necessarily reach for one out of need.

he is also super fast
but does he return kick-offs and/or punts?

Seriously
the whole reason that these owners can do whatever they want in the US sports is b/c fans are so detached from the teams they support that they arent willing to even use the tense to bond with the team.

people are like,"oh so its we, our, my, huh?"

tell me this, whose team was it before owner x,  before him?  after owner x?  what the one thing they have in common?  the same fanbase.  its the fanbases team.  the owner is just lucky enough to profit off it, its owned in name only,  and the fanbase it what determines the team they owns value.  nothing more.

do they own it?  yes. do they cut the checks?  yes, but they'll be long dead, or long ago sold the club.  the thing left remain?  the same fanbase.

The owner
has final say in everything, look at Cuban...

The fanbase doesn't decide what happens.

right
they dont decide what happens to the team or on the field or anywhere around it,im not talking small picture, im talking big picture, it happens when an owner looks up and his stadium is half empty, his beer isnt selling like it did in years past, when he walks around he doesnt see his teams jerseys and bumper sticker as often asin the past and the team goes through 2 or 3 years of attendance drops.

be sure of one thing,  cuban is only there b/c owner x-1  couldnt win, couldnt put butts in the seats and was put out to pasture.  sure cuban made an offer no1 could refuse, but it was only a consideration by owner x-1 b/c of fanbase dissatisfaction.  in fact cuban was a element of that fanbase of dissatisfaction and got so rich and so fed up,he bought the team.

i stand by the statement, "the fanbase it what determines the team they owns value."  the value of the team the owner owns is based on the tv revs, the attendance, the draw, bumper stickers etc,  that value is only as strong as your teams supporters.
