Bill James' projections a far more optimistic than others this year, FWIW, prediction an OPS just shy of 1.000.

I hope that the Rangers are either surprisingly very good -- within a game or three of the lead by June -- or very bad, out of it by Memorial Day. Halfway will make it too tempting to be buyers when they might be better off waiting until next year.

We need to see the rebuilding all the way through. Hopefully potential contention wouldn't jeopardize that.

If MY is the face of the franchise,

Hamilton is the franchise commodity. He above every other player is the one who can put Ranger jerseys on kids from coast to coast and push attendance back toward the 3 million mark.

Maybe it's better to think of Hamilton as the face of the franchise and Young as the heart of the franchise.

I say they flip AJM at the deadline. He's been around for a while, and I bet the Rangers could get some good young blogging prospects in return for him.
