Swap Bradley and Blalock

And put in Laird instead of Melhuse, and that's about what our regular lineup should look like for the first half this year.

We'll see

This is only his first time in the field this spring. We'll see how many innings he even winds up playing.

I just hope the Rangers aren't rushing Milton.

Yes it is out of the question to consider Fukumori as a starter. If I remember correctly, he was strictly a releiver in Japan, and with his past arm issues, converting him is not a good idea.

That is the 5th homer Loe has given up this spring.

Also worth noting

That Bedard has given up 7 long balls.

I read that the dry air has been giving guys trouble getting a good grip and could cause a sinker baller like Loe to not get as good of movement on the ball

Not any excuse for it just giving a little info

Not a stunner, but manager Ron Washington admitted for the first time that Wilson is the guy. Wilson wasn't surprised, but is glad that it's out and he can focus on the season.

I've been using sopcast since college to watch mavs games from class. Nowadays, I use it to catch UFC events if I don't have a friend who's buying it or to watch EPL games that aren't on FSC. It's magic.

Hank

Would you trade em or try to keep em long term?

He is a Boras guy now...

by Baseball North on Mar 25, 2008 11:44 PM CDT reply actions

Not sure if this is my reason or emotion talking

but I'd want to keep him if we could work out a reasonable deal (ie not an overpay like the Young contract). He seems like the kind of guy we would want to build around for when the younger talent starts to come up in the next couple of years, plus we really don't have any 3b prospects in the minors.

Hank is still young and is under contract for next season (club option at a very low price). Id say try everything to get an extension worked out. If you can't then at the winter meetings you can look to trade him.

by bigsteve on Mar 26, 2008 7:10 AM CDT up reply actions

Depends upon what we trade him for

If it's for a younger 3B, like Andy LaRoche, I'd trade him in a heartbeat. But if we can't replace him, we should probably keep him, unless we're getting some kind of ace pitcher in return.

by LSJ on Mar 25, 2008 11:49 PM CDT up reply actions

Sharky

He has to love this post.

by Chris Hanes on Mar 26, 2008 6:16 AM CDT up reply actions

There isn't much coming up on the corners

JD focused mainly on loading up the middle of the field in the draft and his trades.

It's not like Hank's regressed hard, aside from those two years.

LaRoche might be gettable since LA's lacking hard at 3rd. But isn't LaRouche a top 20 prospect in baseball?

by Baseball North on Mar 25, 2008 11:50 PM CDT reply actions

Yeah, but LA's waffled a lot on him

One minute, they're really high on him as a prospect, the next they're thinking they're in win-now mode and don't want his growing pains.

There was rumor of a Blalock/LaRache deal in the winter meetings, so LA does like Hank.

by LSJ on Mar 25, 2008 11:53 PM CDT up reply actions

If LA is in the race come July

and Hank's having a solid season, they might be willing to move LaRoche. But there's still the chance that he breaks out this year.

Even with AJones, LA's O still has many question marks. Loney and Kemp might have the so called sophmore Jinx
