Rupe Makes Rangers, Mendoza To DL
Pitcher Luis Mendoza will start the season on the disabled list with a blister on his right middle finger. The Rangers still expect him to be their fifth starter on April 12 and he'll likely make at least one start at Triple A Oklahoma on medical rehabilitation before that.
But this means Kason Gabbard will be the Rangers fourth starter while Mendoza gets the blister problem straightened out.
The Rangers have also told reliever Josh Rupe that he is on the team. That leaves one spot left in the bullpen: Wes Littleton or Robinson Tejeda.

Glad Rupe made it.
He has battle injuries for a couple years which has really hurt his development.
I don't want to play golf. When I hit a ball, I want someone else to go chase it. ~Rogers Hornsby
Tejeda
My pick. They want to keep him in the org, and that guy's not going to clear waivers.
Go Strangers.
Tejeda in, Littleton out
because Littleton has an option, right?
is ne1 else concerned
about this pitching staff staying healthy and performing. Only 1 pitcher out of 6 got out of ST at full strength -- Kason Gabbard -- and he didn't fare to well in any outing.
Wait 'til the year after next
it's not how you start...
it's how you finish. in Spring Training anyways - keep in mind, you have nothing to gain by giving it your all in the spring when the games don't count, so of course they kept it safe when it came to Millwood and Padilla. I think they have both dominated lately, so if they carry that into the regular season, outstanding.
I am concerned about B-Mac - not sure he'll ever be consistent enough in terms of bringing it and being healthy enough to bring it. But he's still relatively young, so the jury's out.

The weird thing is BMac never had injuries before.....
are the Ranger's doing something wrong?
BTW< MUrphy just dribbled one into right scoring Blalock (Byrd to third) tied the game at 5
Then Laird drives home Byrd on the first pitch with a liner to left, Murphy to third
Broussard, first ball swinging, off the top of the wall in rf....2 more runs in 8-5
Mench with a hit Broussard scores....damn! 9-5
Id consider
Millwood, Padilla and Jennings may not be full strength but they all seem fine right now.
Bullpen wise im not concerned about Benoit or CJ.
Let's get another pitcher.
Why don't we trade Nelson Cruz to the Royals for relief pitcher Jorge De La Rosa who was just designated for assignment. Low risk deal for each team.
De La Rosa is only 26, lefthanded and has some skills that could be good in the bullpen.
Go Cubbies and Go Rangers!
that would be fine
but whould never happen. and why would you JDLR. doesnt it seem the below average middle of the bullpen guys is something the rangers actually have plenty of
touchdown... touchdown... and st.micheals takes the lead.
