Final Exhibition Game
Today's the last exhibition game, before the Rangers kick off 2008 against the Seattle Mariners on Monday.
The Rangers play Frisco at 1:05 today. Still no lineups up, that I've seen, and there's no TV, but I'm starting a thread on it anyway.

Frisco Roster
First minor league roster I've seen updated. It's not perfect - Shoemaker and Furtado were released for example - but it gives an idea of what to expect -

Interesting that
Gentry got bumped up (wasn't going to start in CF in Bakersfield of course) to AA after a .272/.325/.371 season in HA and an ugly HWL stint. I was curious how the AA CF spot would play out.

Borbon
I think if Borbon starts off hot in Bakersfield he will get promoted quickly to Frisco. Possibly by the middle to end of June
That would be great
I just hope he's ready for HA, but then my expectations for how advanced he is coming in are a little low probably.

What is Gabbard?
Surely more than a 4 inning pitcher. Maybe my recall is faulty, but it seems four innings is the most he can go without being hammered.

WTF?
Feldman striking out 4 guys in 4 innings according to gameday

winning means you are doing better than you have done before"
feldman
he looked good, gabbard not so much.
also, madrigal is a lot heftier than i thought he'd be.

Agreed it's somewhat bothersome
That Gabbard struggles where he shouldn't... or that he can't get far in games. Let's see how he starts the year. Hopefully they were already gearing up mentally for the start of the season and this was just an afterthought.

Went to the game today
It was a pretty uneventful game. I was bummed that hamilton wasn't playing, though he was in the batting cages just before the game.
Rangers starters didnt play long, and it was hard to tell who was who when the scrubs went out because no one had a normal number and they werent listed anywhere.
Boggs hit the right field wall really hard going after a ball and had to come out, was hard to tell if he just hurt his hand or if it was cut open, either way that outfield wall with the led's isnt forgiving.
Typical ranger fans" were everywhere, bitching about the team not being able to beat a AA team, most didnt even realize it wasnt even really the "rangers" playing most of the game.
Players were signing autographs here and there, cj was signing for quite a while before he had to hit the pen. Elvis andrus was signing at the end of the game and what was funny was JD walked across to the field talk to him.

Dr. Pepper Park...
I went to the game today as well. It was my first time to attend a game at Dr. Pepper Park. Overall the stadium was pretty nice, but those grey buildings really blended in with the sky today and it was very hard to see the ball coming off the bat from where I was sitting in RC field. I too was disappointed that Hamilton didn't play, I guess I'll have to wait until the 8th to see him play in person.
Damn
Kason Gabbard can't even beat the AA guys!!
I know that really doesn't mean anything... but if I where Gabbard, I would be pretty damned embarrased that I got lit up by a minor league team.
