Hambone!

Hambone goes yard!

by iblum on Mar 31, 2008 4:13 PM CDT   0 recs

I cant predict 7 runs

so ill predict millwood finds his 2005 self and the rangers win 3-2 w/ 2 runs off of whoever pitches the 8th.

by DSheppard on Mar 31, 2008 4:19 PM CDT   0 recs

2.0

Apparently one of the uber-kewl new features of 2.0 is that it starts not 1, but 2 (!) game day threads.

That's totally awesome. I never would have thought of that.

by Hubris on Mar 31, 2008 4:22 PM CDT   0 recs

make that 3

game day threads.

by Hubris on Mar 31, 2008 4:36 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

back to 1

good job AJM.

by Hubris on Mar 31, 2008 4:37 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Does this mean he goes to the penalty box?

And I'm predicting 6-2 Rangers loss, sorry but we are going up against a Ranger-killer and we haven't fared too well on opening night

by Taylor on Mar 31, 2008 4:41 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Too cold for 7 runs.

I'll say 6-4 Rangers. Joking. 3-1 Rangers. Milly will be a Bully tonight.

BTW, really good game between Detroit and KC today. Royals slayed the Tigers in extra innings. Verlander outpitched Meche, by a little, even though Verlander's box score looks a little bit worse in some ways. Cabrera went deep all ready.

Kinsler back in lineup, per ST:

Ian Kinsler has risen from his sick bed and will be in the lineup today in the season opener. Fewer than two hours ago, he had been scratched with flu-like symptoms that included a high fever. But he took batting practice in the cage in the Rangers' clubhouse and declared himself fit to play.

-- Jeff Wilson

Woo-Hoo!

by rooster on Mar 31, 2008 4:29 PM CDT   0 recs

phew

didnt say anything because i didnt want to even vaguely insult kins, but i thought it was pretty odd that he would miss opening day with a fever unless this was far more serious than most average cold/fever stuff is. a sick kinsler on medication > vazquez.

YeeHawww!

...it's the weekend, so why the hell not?

by Rodney on Mar 31, 2008 4:33 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Hopefully we can get 2 runs in the last couple of innings

I'll say 5-2 Mariners. I don't see any reason why Bedard won't shut us down.

Hopefully I am dead wrong :).

by geetar85 on Mar 31, 2008 4:32 PM CDT   0 recs

heres for

him going 2-4 with a HR

by psmitty on Mar 31, 2008 4:32 PM CDT   0 recs

Looks like Adam had a few mishaps.

But now we have 1 game day thread.

I'm ready for some real baseball!

by geetar85 on Mar 31, 2008 4:38 PM CDT   0 recs

Is it just me

or is MLB.com working like crap today? My connection has been fine as long as I've steered clear of any mlb site. Opening day overload maybe?

by TexasTiger on Mar 31, 2008 4:42 PM CDT   0 recs

i think its worth mentioning

that johan hasnt given up a hit through 3 2/3

obviously not even 4 ip yet.. but hey, its johan in shea vs the marlins on opening day.

that rhymes.

also worth mentioning: mark hendrickson is the marlins opening day starter.

by DSheppard on Mar 31, 2008 4:45 PM CDT   0 recs

jinxed

next batter 2 run HR josh willingham

by DSheppard on Mar 31, 2008 4:46 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

bedard

he had a bad spring and he may be nervous opening day with new team

by mai on Mar 31, 2008 4:56 PM CDT   0 recs

Cubs, Brewers

0-0 in the 8th. Only 5 hits.

by psmitty on Mar 31, 2008 4:57 PM CDT   0 recs

on KRLD now!

by Rodney on Mar 31, 2008 5:09 PM CDT   0 recs

said kinsler is out..

but i assume that was pre-taped and just before kinsler changed his mind.

by DSheppard on Mar 31, 2008 5:15 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Ya, it is taped

About 1-1.5 hours before first pitch, IIRC.

...it's the weekend, so why the hell not?

by Rodney on Mar 31, 2008 5:19 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Does anyone else have Direct TV??

I get the game in the MLB game mix...but when I try and go to the channel to have it on the big screen - it says its not purchased?? Anyone else having this problem?? I hoping, it just won't let me watch pregame full screen....

Ya....That's Real Mature.

WOW

Gagne just gave up a 3run shot to Fukudome in the bottom of the 9th to tie it up!

Yay

It's my little girl's first Ranger game. Admittedly, she's only two months old, but it still counts. Hooray for Opening Day!

We need to develop the technology to reanimate the corpse of Kenesaw Mountain Landis and install him as commissioner again. He wouldn't put up with this crap.

by RadicalBender on Mar 31, 2008 5:24 PM CDT   0 recs

Ugh...

why aren't the cameras in widescreen for the HD feed? That better get fixed.

its not even hd...

but its on FSN-HD :(

by richardtodd on Mar 31, 2008 5:35 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Yup...

it's very disappointing. I was getting all pumped about watching it in HD tonight.

Stars in a Texas Night Sky, a Dallas Stars blog from a fan's perspective.

by rangers85 on Mar 31, 2008 5:38 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Seriously

We get a Rangers game on FSN HD, and they can't even do that right. Today has not been a good day for HD baseball with the Yankees game being cancelled and an SD Tigers-Royals feed being shown on ESPN, and the Cubs game being delayed. Ugh.

Blernsball Fever: Contract it!

by carterman on Mar 31, 2008 5:55 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Joke...

another reason why FSN is a joke...cant even get Opening day in hd. FSN sucks

by tx_kobayashi on Mar 31, 2008 6:27 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

If it's anything like FSN for Mav games

only HOME games will be in HD on FSNHD.

by Garcia on Mar 31, 2008 6:35 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

thats trash

by tx_kobayashi on Mar 31, 2008 6:36 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Ah, yes...

I'm spending my opening day on hold with MLB.com... already damn tired of this looped piano music.

by lonestarJon on Mar 31, 2008 5:36 PM CDT   0 recs

might I ask why?

I'm having some issues w/ mlb.tv, you too?

I hereby ordain you Benny Brou Ha Ha<-----Wash thinks you can hit lefties....in 2 months time you will be a full fledged Brouhaha..trust me on that one.

I'm listening to gameday audio with my MLB.tv subscription

Seems to be working so far... but that's audio, not TV.

by Inkara1 on Mar 31, 2008 5:45 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

The gameday audio seems to have a delay

They're still yapping before the start of the game on the audio feed.
