Young, Blalock both sick
Michael Young and Hank Blalock are both suffering from the bug that hit Ian Kinsler last night.
They are apparently both still planning on playing, but being under the weather and having to face Felix Hernandez isn't a real good thing.
And if both Young and Blalock were to be unable to play, the Rangers would have to call someone up from the minors, since the only backup infielder is Ramon Vazquez.

Lets go with
Kinsler at SS, Vazquez at 2B. 5 tools at 3B.

Kinsler

the truth.

Anyways
playing games in he pacific northwest in March/Early April is just stupid. M's should have been on the road and Texas should have been playing at home...
the truth.

I miss Matt Kata...
He could have played 3B tonight if need be. It's too bad the organization used common sense when it came to the Katastrophe.

Is this stuff contagious?
Maybe Kinsler would have been better off staying in bed last night. If you're running a fever that usually means you're at the stage where you can infect others. This may spread as everybody tries to play in spite of it.

Good Felix
you know, if it is Good Felix tonight, as opposed to Bad Felix, it may be better to have blurry vision. That way when you swing at the ball where you think it is, while you would normally be wrong, you may actually be right... In other words, maybe going up there swinging randomly is better than an actual strategy against his best stuff...

Damnit
Why couldn't it have been Byrd and Broussard that caught it.
And with the 22nd overall selection the Dallas Cowboys select Jonathan Stewart.

No one to call up
There's not another healthy infielder on the 40-man roster.
If Young and Blalock really couldn't play, I don't think would have much choice other than to play Catalanotto at 3B. The only other option would be to drop someone off the 40-man roster, which doesn't make sense for a one game solution.

I know its a moot point now
But if it were really an emergency like this, couldn't you play Cat at 2B, Kinsler at SS, and Vazquez at 3B?
