SEA loses 7-0

Rangers out of last place. For now.

Edwin Jackson

Somebody was talking about him on here, that he'd be a nice trade target in a Byrd deal.

He's making them look pretty smart through two starts...

Go Strangers.

by hightowersmith on Apr 10, 2008 3:52 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Hah

wait until you see the 9-ER-in-one-inning Edwin Jackson. This version rears its ugly head most commonly after a great EJack outing.

There is no such thing as global warming. David Murphy was cold, so he turned the sun up.

Game 1 Lineup

2B Ian Kinsler
SS Michael Young
CF Josh Hamilton
DH Milton Bradley
3B Hank Blalock
LF Frank Catalanotto
RF David Murphy
C Gerald Laird
1B Ben Broussard

this line up sucks

Isn't this more or less what we've trotted out there all year? How would you change it?

by Jack Nicholson 1974 on Apr 10, 2008 3:27 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

reverse jinx

lets see if it works this year.

Murphy should be in front of Crapalanotto

That way, you break up two lefties that can't hit LHP with a lefty that can at least hold his own against LHP.

Other than that, though, I don't see any problems with that lineup.

by lonestarJon on Apr 10, 2008 3:39 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I would guess that Cat

is in that spot because he's the one guy that Wash would definitely pinch-hit for against a LOOGY

by Randy Richardson on Apr 10, 2008 3:43 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

True, he hasn't hesitated to do that in the past...

Even when Cat was going for the cycle. But based on how the two have performed lately, Murphy should be in front of Cat irregardless.

by lonestarJon on Apr 10, 2008 3:48 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I know why

Salty is in AAA and understand it...to a point, but man it does let me down everytime I look at a line-up and stare at Laird's Private Pyle gob when I could be looking at Salty

by Hypo-Luxa on Apr 10, 2008 3:42 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

When you should be looking at Salty you mean

He drove in both Redhawks runs yesterday, and also picked a runner off second base.

by lonestarJon on Apr 10, 2008 3:53 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I've heard that he...

poops thunder and urinates rainbows.

"I know you're a bit dense but no, it doesn't. Obviously lying isn't a problem for me."

TV?

So, what have we determined re: TV for today's games? I know last night was supposed to be on FSSW and today was supposed to be channel 27. I'm in Austin and usually we get the 27 games on 667 for DTV. Tonight's game is still showing up on my guide as on 667, but what of this afternoon's game?

by TexasTiger on Apr 10, 2008 3:47 PM CDT   0 recs

I'm pretty sure it's on FSN

but there's no pre-game on either channel.

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 10, 2008 3:49 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Both games on KDFI 27

according to texasrangers.com press release

by drizzle on Apr 10, 2008 3:56 PM CDT   0 recs

but what about Tyra Banks..???

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 10, 2008 4:00 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

LOL...

...KDFI must be getting flooded with complaints.

Right around the time all the young talent is ready to contend is when the organization will realize that Ron Washington is the wrong man for the job.

by Chad Crudup on Apr 10, 2008 4:03 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

unscheduled day games are usually very light on attendance

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 10, 2008 4:02 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Might see more show up

once people get off work and have time to go home, get their kids and their rally caps and go to the ballpark.

by Inkara1 on Apr 10, 2008 4:04 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I'd be there right now

if I had someone to go with...

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 10, 2008 4:04 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I'd go

if it weren't a three-day drive to get there... or two very long days.

by Inkara1 on Apr 10, 2008 4:05 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

same here

Converting my friends to the Rangers has been a very slow process

by drizzle on Apr 10, 2008 4:08 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

sucks having a day off

and there's a Rangers day game and I'm at home online...

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 10, 2008 4:09 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Man

it's freaking snowing here. Not just light snow, blowing, destroy all visibility snow. I wish I could be at the park right now.

by FirebatM3 on Apr 10, 2008 4:17 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

tix to games

so if you show up right now and purchase a bleacher seat do you get to see both games?

by simbaa on Apr 10, 2008 4:07 PM CDT   0 recs

and sit wherever you want with that bleacher ticket.

i'm a 5 minute drive away from the ballpark...

by RachelB on Apr 10, 2008 4:10 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 10, 2008 4:13 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Yes, but in the nightcap

And only because we wouldn't want poor Ben Broussard to get overtired.

by lonestarJon on Apr 10, 2008 4:13 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

The Rangers had

already announced that Botts would start against Loewen, before yesterday.

by Randy Richardson on Apr 10, 2008 4:14 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I know

But whenever I see a free shot at Ron Wash, I take it. ;)

Errors

If that wasn't an error than baseball should just get rid of the error entirely

by Randy Richardson on Apr 10, 2008 4:21 PM CDT   0 recs

Oh crap

someone's on base, Trachsel is going to take years between throws.

by FirebatM3 on Apr 10, 2008 4:21 PM CDT   0 recs

I am making the call....

Hamilton is going yard!

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

Dammit

What the hell was that Cat?

by Randy Richardson on Apr 10, 2008 4:27 PM CDT   0 recs

The 17th pick

in the draft would have hit that pitch

lepricon

by jparks77 on Apr 10, 2008 4:28 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

or would

have at least swung at it

by Randy Richardson on Apr 10, 2008 4:28 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Its because he lost the handlebars

there was a lot of positive karma in that stache

by Gdawg1 on Apr 10, 2008 4:28 PM CDT   0 recs

Millwood

Looks like his pitches are high on gameday.

Why do I follow the Rangers again?
