Sitting at .500, with Luis Mendoza going up against Roy Halladay...not a matchup that fills you with confidence...

no Bradley
today = no win for the Rangers.
"Why do you think you're baseball jesus?" AirJordan to LonestarJon
I must have missed
why is Bradley sitting out? just a normal day off?
Pedro: "I wasn't cockfighting, I just have a wide stance."
So who replaces Bradley?
I know it's most likely Crapalanotto, but it would be nice if Botts could get some AB's...
Ha ha ha!!!
Crapalanotto!!!
Ha!!!
I want to commend you. In a short amount of time, you have become almost as annoying as miles.

Hey, it fits him like a glove
He's a worthless defender, with a platoon offense, who should have never been signed in the first place.
I dearly wish we could trade or DFA him.
Plenty of others feel the same way as you
It's valid -- try not to beat it to death and maybe you'll get flamed less often.

i dont have him
but he should have to force wash to play him at this point, not be given starts. If hes not hitting any better than botts, might as well play the younger guy.
Gerald Laird is my hero.

mendoza tonight
I'm skeptical about his long term viability as a ML starter, but I sure would like to see something tonight that makes me think of him differently.
I'll be watching his command and his stuff real closely.
Pedro: "I wasn't cockfighting, I just have a wide stance."
a positive note
I was also real skeptical about Chris Young when he first came up after having a long run of minor league blah, then a short run of real good success. Maybe the Rangers can have that same type of "out-of-nowhere" success in developing Mendoza. The rotation could sure use a solid 4/5 starter, both this year and in the near future.

by Randy Richardson on Apr 12, 2008 6:37 PM CDT reply actions
why would they do this?
is playing RF that much less of a strain than playing center? seems like they should just switch places when ron isn't looking
scap load or die
hambone in right
not sure I see the point of that. I know it is a little less strenuous than CF, but if he is playing the field, he really helps a lot more in CF. I'd play him in center or dh him, don't see much benefit to playing him in RF.
Pedro: "I wasn't cockfighting, I just have a wide stance."
Hamilton
Well think about it. Playing CF means any ball hit in the outfield you are going for whether to make a play or backup. Playing RF probably doesn't make that big a difference but if it gives us an extra 5 games over the course of the year its cool with me. Plus his arm in RF will pretty much stop runners trying to take an extra base or score on sac flies
Evan Reed
Another 6 scoreless innings today. Season ERA of 0.00.
Pedro: "I wasn't cockfighting, I just have a wide stance."

they are
Kinsler, Hamilton, Wilson, Gabbard, Mendoza, Hank, Murphy are all developing. When the rest are ready they will be here too. But until then they are developing right where they should be. In the minors
Hank doesn't count
And I wanted to see Salty taking aim at the fence, not OMFT K'ing with a runner on third.
but hes young
you said you wanted the young guys to develop. Im sure Hank would say he needs to work on things so you are seeing him develop more.

Police Blotter: Flaming recliner nets man criminal mischief charge
08:32 AM CDT on Saturday, April 12, 2008
By Donna Fielder/Staff Writer
A Denton police officer reÂsponding to a reported fire in the 400 block of Woodland Street found a recliner burning in the front yard about 2:17 a.m. FriÂday.
Another officer radioed that he arrested the resident a day earlier and that the man he arrested threatened to burn his former girlÂfriend’s furniture, left at the house.
Arriving officers knocked on the door of the house but got no answer. They finally convinced the resident to come out.
He explained that he and his girlfriend had broken up. They often had sex on the recliner, he said, so he poured charcoal lightÂer on it and set it ablaze to burn out old memories.
The fire marshal found the girlfriend, who said the chair beÂlonged to her and she wanted to press charges.
The man was charged with criminal mischief.

Anyone else have the Direct TV MLB package? That strike zone channel is freaking awesome. They do a great job of switching back and forth to interesting situations and breaking in for quick highlights. Just saw Ichiro gun down the ridiculously slow Kotchman at the plate.
It's a great distraction on nights when the Rangers decide they have a burning desire to suck at defense and piss me off.

+1
I also like to turn it to 720 (mlb game mix) to watch the multiple games and I can see when the Ranger game is back on.
directv mlb extra innings
i half thought about getting extra innings, but i'm so fed up with directv i'm switching to timewarner.

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.
Geez
Oakland up 7-2 vs. Cleveland. Is Cleveland just that bad this year or is Oakland's offense better than we thought?

a foul off the pitchers head
would be an interesting feat
Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.
the only way
is if it ricochets off a doughnut in the on deck circle, off the facing of the dugout, off the helmet of the runner on first, then the ball pauses in mid-air and turns in a 45 degree angle and hits the pitcher....
the truth.
or it could be a high popup
and the catcher falls down, the pitcher runs in to try and make the play and it hits his head a la Canseco
Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

just intentionally walked Jose Vidro. For the record, so far this year he has intentionally walked both VIdro and Ben Broussard.
