Same pitch...

He called on Laird as a ball.

by rcreative on Apr 13, 2008 5:04 PM CDT   0 recs

BS...

...you don't blame the umpire when the entire team sucks balls when runners are in scoring position.

Botts

won't see another AB for awhile.

Eckstein

Got that pitch called a ball for him. Must have been all his grit clouding the ump's vision.

by rcreative on Apr 13, 2008 5:05 PM CDT   0 recs

Nah...

Cause we're going to win next inning.

by rcreative on Apr 13, 2008 5:06 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I could go for a hammy walk off.

But now Im scared for the 10th. Who on earth are we going to use?

Gerald Laird is my hero.

by DSheppard on Apr 13, 2008 5:07 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

if we have a walk off in the 9th

we won't need another pitcher...

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 13, 2008 5:07 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Well, i know that....

All I meant was that I would of course like a walkoff, but its still like 65% chance we see a 10th.

that is if CJ can get out of this inning.

Gerald Laird is my hero.

by DSheppard on Apr 13, 2008 5:10 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I'm guessing they don't

want to have him pitch 2 for some reason

by Randy Richardson on Apr 13, 2008 5:07 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Actually...

The guy I'd like to see up at the plate now is David Eckstein.

by Gdawg1 on Apr 13, 2008 5:05 PM CDT   0 recs

Botts appears to need regular at bats to get into a groove

but he is never going to get regular at bats if he keeps hitting like crap in his limited opportunities. As much as I am a fan of his and want him to succeed, I just can't see him doing it.

by uthornfan on Apr 13, 2008 5:05 PM CDT   0 recs

This might be a dumb time

to bring this up, considering how good our starting pitching has been, and how well Chris-John is doing in the 'pen, but I still think it's a huge waste of talent not letting CJ start.

Let's say

CJ is shifted to the rotation. Would you shift Jack to the closer role and Rupe to set up man?

Yes.

One of those two should be stretched out -- BGL with a higher ceiling obviously.

Jack to closer, yes

Not sure on setup. Guardado, Rupe, German... you go with whoever earns it.

this ump

is VERY inconsistent

by Randy Richardson on Apr 13, 2008 5:08 PM CDT   0 recs

CJ gets the strike

and then throws up his arms... I think he was saying "that was the same damn pitch that was a ball before"

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 13, 2008 5:10 PM CDT   0 recs

Either or

Either that was a wrong call or the Botts 3rd strike was.

by rcreative on Apr 13, 2008 5:11 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

the pitch I was referring two was 6" higher than the one Botts struck out on

by DSheppard on Apr 13, 2008 5:10 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

he's just douchey...

...when he's winning, he's all smiles...

when he's losing, he slams his clubs, and yells out loud...

just so he can let everybody know his frustration... almost unprofessional.

can't handle a click of a camera going off while he is swinging..

wtf was wrong with that pitch?

by Dirk Diggler on Apr 13, 2008 5:11 PM CDT   0 recs

I wanna see the 'electronic strikezone'

on the screen for every pitch from here on out. I've seen strange zones, but there's no telling where he thinks these pitches are...

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 13, 2008 5:12 PM CDT   0 recs

Is there a reason...

they don't just have that in the bottom corner during the pitches to track it?

by rangers85 on Apr 13, 2008 5:13 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

too much stuff on the screen as it is

but when there are as many close calls as this, I'd like to see them use it more often... even thought it isn't "official", it gives you a better idea of where the ump is seeing the pitches... and you can see how consistent or inconsitent an ump is

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.
