Tuesday morning
Four game losing streak, but at least we have a favorable pitching matchup today.
Ron Washington claims that Wes Littleton can win a more permanent role in the bullpen by pitching well this week. He does inspire more confidence in me than about half of the opening day pen, so here's hoping that he can establish himself.
John Patterson is working his way back, and Mark Connor has an optimistic tone about the whole thing. We're all a little jaded right at the moment by recent results from a former NL pitcher working his way back from injury and an 80 mph fastball. But given where the team is this season, these efforts are probably worth a shot.
And the Rangers will honor Jackie Robinson today with a uniform tribute.

Yeah
I find it odd that Littleton’s always the one who has to prove himself, while guys like German, Fukumori, and Nippert get their jobs handed to them.
I agree on German
but Fukumori had a good spring training and Nippert was insurance/upgrade against losing Tejada. If Nippert doesn’t stick with us he will with another team. He’s just not pitching well to start out the year.

OT...but what the hell.......
How about getting Salty back up, letting Laird start against a few lefties and back-up the rest of the time, (so he looks better by the trade deadline), let Salty catch most of the time and play first against a few lefties (sit Broussard)???
This team needs another right-handed bat, needs Laird to only play vs. lefties and needs to sit Broussard against most lefties…...how frickin’ hard is that to figure out???
Sorry.....and by next year.....
mid-year at the latest, Davis will be ready and Salty can catch full-time!
Nothing like more Salty talk
to get your morning going. He’ll be here in due time. Damn. Give it a rest people.
Hmmmm
So you’re saying Laird should start against lefties to boost his trade value? Crap, why hasn’t someone else brought that up before?
C’mon. We were talking about that two months ago. And every damn day since.

What happened to my old signature?
Salty
Catcher, Catcher, Catcher
That is the only position he should be playing. He has never been a 1B until last year when he was forced to play it and thats not where his future with this club is. If you want him in the majors it better be behind home plate everyday.
Just to lighten the mood

Point? Seems Brett, you’ve set the tone for a sloppy, underperforming day. Wish I’d caught this before game time!
